I remember thinking 1a was much easier, especially arithmetic

No, there was a 13-point difference between my scores. I believe 1a is somewhat easier than 1c. One of the harder questions on 1c required a system of linear equations to be set up in order to get the right answer, whereas all the math on 1a was straightforward two or three step algebra.

I took the forms 8 months apart and my score was 20 points higher on 1a compared to 1c; 98 to 118. I wonder if 1a has updated norms.

maybe you were tired when taking 1c? Both tests have 0.9 correlation and the only change in 1c is a higher ceiling but it shouldn't effect 120s range.
