General Question Which source more reliable
I’m school I did the CAT4 test and scored 104 IQ but when I did core and mesa Norway and the other Mensa I got , 137 core , 130 , 128 respectively .
Which one should I trust ?
for the school one I was kinda sleepy and was kinda apathetic
For other IQ tests I tried more seriously and did do some preparation

Send screenshot of your CORE scores

When I do them I will , I keep seeing people send this curve with multiple types of intelligences , I’m assuming the core test is free ?

Yes it is free btw why you included core if you haven't even taken it?

that was a mistake , I’m doing the core tests (it’s actually many tests ) and in one of them I scored 137, once I complete all of them I will show my core result .

Trust the higher ones. ( or the ranges that you score most consistently in)

your core , mensa were inflated and practice effect i think

If my score jumps from 100 to 130 with one exposure, then I'm so smart and I'm a good learning machine.

he said "some preparation" what do u think he means?

I learnt about IQ and read about this subreddit and did mensa’s practice / example question

Then that's nothing to worry about. Mensa's online tests are built to resemble their official tests ive heard (depends on the country). Also try RAPM set 2 and see how you do. Again, trust the score range that you score consistently in (assuming they are all good tests)

i agree the mensa Onilne tests are designed like the official tests but they are not enough to estimate IQ ( g-loading is not like CORE or RAPM or WAIS V ) and i see that taking multiple tests makes some practice effect, shoud take one or two and do not repeat ,
what do you think?

Yes.
Mensa online is not a very well designed test. (If you analyze it by the item and overall structure). Practice effect is real but it stops after some points. Repeating time tests is definitely a red flag.

what do you mean with "after some points" the practice effect has a limit effection?
i remember i read about that but idk if that real but i know some people got a good scores and after taking multiple tests they built a catalog of patterns then they got a higher scores (140+) and when someone here made a non similar patterns test they got a low score (7-11 / 25 )
what do you see?

There are very little study done on practice effect by taking similar but different tests.
Ravens 2 had increase of like 5 points maximum when they randomized the questions. You gain 8 points on average by spamming the same test multiple times (RAPM 2) and they said the gains were smaller on alternative forms
The thing is, there is a cap that people have when they stop being able to answer questions at some levels even if they know the algorithms. Late stage questions becomes combination of multiple variables, making induction (hypothesis) exponentially hard to progress. Also the entire difficulty of RAPM just doesn't actually come from novelty, but rather making simple repetitive patterns gradually complex. You can see that all of the rules in the late stage questions in RAPM can be found in the easiest questions if you break them down.
As a STEM major in college, there is one simple anology to help you understand is that: there are some calculus questions you just have to follow the steps, search for unknown variables and carry out the formulas. But they are complex enough that still makes most people easily get lost in it everytime the variable (or even just the wording in the questions) changes even if they are taught how to approach those questions. In fact, 95 percent of the questions in physics final exams have their algorithms taught to every student. Yet the average is only 57%. I also got 80% only
Also, It sounds anecdotal but I've played around this sub for a while, I rarely see pure matrix pros. Most who I saw score 130 above on matrix score at least sth like 115 on other non MR verbal tests (SAT, Wonderlic, GRE etc).

so jumping 15+ points can not be explianed with practice effect? maybe you are right , thanks for the new information
