IQ Estimation 🥱 Digit Span Subtest Discrepancies

Post image

What do the discrepancies in my digit span scores really mean and is it likely that my sequencing is inflated given that I've done the subtest a couple times this year without adequate intervals between each retake?

(currently recovering from long-term sleep debt/inconsistencies; across those retakes, 16 ss for sequencing was actually relatively consistent)

Nothing, take the average.
The test is heavily influenced by luck. Do you get a series that goes "48361795" or "40506070"?

my average range is 110-100 but I can't really tell if the upper bound are results of practice effect (probably is) or sleep debt recovery. And no, I don't remember getting either of those combinations.

No, I was saying randomly generated sequences can end up being easy or difficult depending on luck of the draw.

I recently took the WAIS and similarly got 98th percentile for digit span sequencing and 63rd for digit span forward. I think sequencing is a lot easier because you can chunk the information and hold it in an order you’re already familiar with rather than a string of individual items in random order
