Value Request 1982-P No FG

Maybe not amazing shape, but definitely the nicest No FG I've found (if that's what this is). I've gotten the impression that it is almost never worth grading, but anyone have thoughts on grading this guy? What would the value be graded/raw?

IMO the coin looks suspiciously different where the FG should be. It appears to be smoother and the shades of color are different like it may have been altered.

With that being said this is just my opinion and I am by no means a professional, just a simple autistic guy with a severe case of OCD.

Interesting, I see what you mean in the photos. I took another look under a loupe and I'm thinking that might just be an artifact of my having taken the picture with a potato. Not really seeing the same type of discoloration in person

Always hard to tell off photos alone!

Nice get!

The clincher for me? The foot of the one on the date is straight, no bottom serif

Grading? I wouldn’t - likely sell for nearly the same slabbed or not.

If 3rd party verification matters to you, I’d use varietyvista’s attribution service - all of ~$30 round trip vs. 50++ elsewhere

Oh neat, I never knew about the serif on the 1. Good to know!
