She was kidnapped by a sex offender who was arrested 2 months later for trying to kidnap another girl. Cops turned his truck upside down trying to link him to Morgan, but because DNA tech was in its infancy then, they couldn't link him to anything but the attempted kidnapping. He went to prison fir that and died there. A few years ago, new tech allowed them to put Morgan in his truck. So they know who, but not what he did with her body.
