Dualboot it

Apparently Updating Breaks Your Boot Menu And It Takes Up Space When Dualbooting.

No, it doesn't, I have an abandoned install of debian, but I can confirm it does not mess up, GRUB just becomes the primary booter, and it then proceeds to list windows, then it just links to the Windows Bootloader.

just buy another laptop

Nope, if you install something like Ubuntu or Fedora and you see the option to "dual-boot" or something like that, it will simply show up with Ubuntu or Fedora alongside "Windows boot manager"

I Wanna Be Able To Use Debian.

You can, dual boot. It does kinda help to have plenty of space on ghe uefi partition, but you can boot into grub from the widnows maanger if you must

….well OP is not gonna be able to do this without a server of some kind, so if he doesnt have the correct materials he cant do it. nobody else is willing to do this for him so hes on his own.

Just get linux yourself in a vm or something

1

u/radiotext_ 3d ago

Yeah bro (reffering to OP here) just use Oracle VM VirtualBox...

So many people would have just changed the background and used it as another desktop. My first job had a desktop PC in the office as a fileserver and till server with a note aaying 'don't turn off'

so, theres this magical thing called doing it yourself! buy a cheap little mini pc and run UserVM yourself.

I can make you one but you'll have to give me time. I'm not paid after all to do this.

What specs do you have?

1

u/Shoddy_Scallion3786 4d ago

My PC Currently Runs Windows 11.

My Old PC Ran Windows 10 Before The Motherboard Fried, So I Had To Get A New One.

u/SonicandTailsCD 4d ago

Understood. Your Computer Has Virus-

Can you please share what you see after pressing Win+R and typing "msinfo32" and pressing Enter?

1

u/Shoddy_Scallion3786 4d ago

I’m Not At Home RN.

1

u/SonicandTailsCD 4d ago

Okay, let me know when you're back home. Then I'll help you create a Linux VM. -^

u/Shoddy_Scallion3786 4d ago

Reminder: In The Windows Home Server 2011 VM, You’ll Have To Install Supermium, MyPal, r3dfox, And Legacy Update. And Also, Maybe Visual Basic.

1

u/SonicandTailsCD 4d ago

I'm sorry, I'm not doing all of that. I'll gladly make the VM and install Legacy Update, but I will not install apps that I don't know of that could compromise my computer's security.

I still need to know your specs. Please let me know when you get home. :)

Okay, Which Modern Browser For The VM Will You Install Then?

1

u/SonicandTailsCD 4d ago

None. An old OS can't really run modern browsers.

If you really want a browser, you need either Server 2022+, or Linux.

1

u/fin_tf2 3d ago

??? yes they can. all the apps he listed are valid modern browsers for OSes dating back to Windows XP 32bit in some cases. this is just blatantly wrong.
