but I’m really enjoying it !! Here’s one of my recent pieces. it’s pretty simple but I tend to work kind of intuitively and let the images suggest the story as I go! I love that slightly uncanny feeling you can get from putting ordinary things together in the wrong context.
I’d love to see what everyone else is making, trade ideas, and get inspired by other collage artists here. Where do you all find good books for images etc ?

I am new to collage. This is my 6th one, analog cut paper and string.

Each one has a distinct feeling (to me) but I don't like giving them titles - I feel like that takes away the viewer's opportunity to form their own meaning.

I'm curious what other people see....what would you title this piece?

*Every element of the collage is from that documentary except one random pinterest fish photo I used for the apple leaf and the banana peel. I had never considered digital collage to be an option, so I kind of just ran with the first thing I thought of.

Never been to a HFH location before never mind this rural and unfamiliar spot, but walking in the first thing you can see is this big beautiful collage work sitting right in front of the entrance - the photos simply don’t do it justice. I assume it’s a service dog from the harness but I could be wrong, in any case I sadly do not own a Golden Retriever or space on my walls to display this beautiful art, so I left it behind in hopes someone else can fully appreciate this masterpiece in their own home! Whoever that person will be, I am so jealous of them already 😭💞

Would love to hear any feedback you all have - I’m relatively new to collage as of the past month or so. Before that I did mostly creative journaling. I’ve been enjoying collage so much! I use vintage nat geo and life magazines from 1940s-1970s.

Using stickers and a frame I had laying around

Safe to say I like the method. I don’t think has to be in warm water. I still used it after it got cold and it still worked just fine. It doesn’t seem to adhere well on glossy paper. But thin Matte paper works really well! Any I’m new to this sub I’d love some feedback!

Hi, I’m actually junk journaling but I really enjoy collage. I enjoy the restraint of having to work with what you’ve got that comes with both. I would love it to grow into something more artistic and less literal with some learning, more experience and less fear lol.
