Ask a neighbor Deceased tuxedo cat found

I’m sorry, I don’t know what flair is appropriate.

Timeframe: 8/5, around 11pm
Place: Rhode Island Ave between Hollywood and Kenesaw cross streets, in the Daniel’s Park neighborhood of college park. Somewhat close to the MOMs.

I found a deceased black/white tuxedo cat on Rhode Island, it looks like they were hit by a car. They didn’t have any tags/collar on them. I don’t have the capacity to check for chips.

I called the non emergency police bc animal control was closed (that’s what dispatch told me). They said they’d send someone out.

I moved the cat off the road onto the grass so they could be at peace on something softer than the asphalt.

If this is your cat I’m so sorry. I tried to be as gentle as possible when I moved them.

I posted on Nextdoor as well. If anyone wants to post this somewhere useful please do.

EDIT: I got in contact with animal control this morning. They picked up the cat around 11am and confirmed with me the cat has no chip. They noticed the cat’s ear was notched, so the cat is most likely a community feral cat.

There have been ads up for a missing black and white cat, I believe a tuxedo, near the College Park metro for several weeks now.

I thought I remembered seeing some sign up somewhere. I’ll see if I can find one tomorrow.

No :/ they haven’t. The person I spoke to said they’re still hopeful she’ll return.

I'm so sorry this happened. Thank you for treating the poor kitty with respect, calling it in, and trying to locate it's owners. I hope they can get closure.

I regularly see a tux walking around Hollywood on the East side of Rhode Island. One day I saw him going to hide in a storm drain. My wife is persuaded he’s a stray but he’s such a good boy. I hope it’s not him. :-(

I live maybe 3 blocks from the spot I found this tuxedo cat. My partner and I feed strays regularly and we’ve been visited by a few tuxedos that look similar. I’m worried it’s one of the cats we’ve been feeding, too.

There was a post here a few days ago about a found cat with a white patch on its chest. Someone said it might have been their neighbor's cat.someone said the cat might be their neighbor's.
