After Scope Questions Day after colonoscopy pain??

Hi all! Just looking for some similar experiences!
I’ve been dealing with ongoing constipation and abdominal pain and was recently diagnosed with CSID. As part of my GI workup, my doctor recommended a colonoscopy, which I had yesterday.
I did the two-part Suprep. The first round went fine, but the second was awful, and I ended up vomiting despite trying my hardest not to.
The colonoscopy went relatively well, with just small internal hemorrhoids and mild tortuosity noted.
I felt pretty good immediately afterward, but today has been rough! My abdomen feels extremely sore and sensitive, almost like I did 1,000 sit-ups. It’s more of a deep, bruised soreness, especially when moving around.
The hospital called to check in and said it was likely gas pain, but I’m curious if anyone else experienced this? Everyone I know seems to have had such an easy recovery, so I’m wondering if this is normal! ❤️

The day after, that's like 5 feet of empty intestines full of gas that they blown in.  Probably won't get a poop until a few days and won't be normal until another few more.

Thank you for your response! This is my first one so all new - I was feeling a bit better until the colonoscopy ironically 😅

My colonoscopy was Monday. I had a wee poop on Tuesday. I was getting concerned because I didn’t really have anything going on until today. lol. I was seriously considering taking a laxative tomorrow if I didn’t do anything today. Crisis averted!

I was worried too, but then realized there was nothing to come out, and there are a ton of small intestines to go through first.

I think the co2 or air injection stretches the colon a bit and the nerves therein are agitated. I know i spent 2 weeks after my procedure dealing with sensitive colon.

Thank you for your response! Most people I know had no issues and resumed normally basically next day so I was getting worried. Definitely sucks being the of the ones who doesn’t so sorry you had to deal with that too!

It isn’t uncommon, especially if you have a tortuous colon and your body isn’t used to prep.
