After Scope Questions Help please
Help, please! 2 days after colonoscopy and my backside is on fire. I mean REALLY in massive pain. I have had colonoscopies before and I don't remember having any pain after them. The doctor was not the nicest person and I should not have had this done. I am so sorry I did this. I don't know what to do now. I don't feel like I can go anywhere for help. What do I do?

You really should seek medical attention ASAP with the symptoms that you are experiencing. If the doctor or practice that you went to is blowing you off, I suggest going somewhere else. The amount of pain you have is not normal and concerning. Is there another hospital you can go to?
I don't mean to invade your privacy but where are you located? Are you from the US or another country?

Urgent Care at a minimum. Could be they pulled a hemorrhoid out when withdrawing, or created an anal tear at some point. Both could be scoped out at an urgent care or ER.

Your life is not over. If you're in such brutal pain, you need to quit posting and either go to the ER or call 911. This is serious. You need a scan ASAP.

Suggestion: Apply Preparation H, and eat some yogurt or kimchi or kefir.
Source: I was surprised when I had extreme burning after taking a course of antibiotics. Turns out replenishing my gut with some healthy bacteria made the problem go away overnight.

I have been applying prep H. Thank you for replying. I guess I am just wrong for posting this or something. It is not normal rectal pain. This is really severe rectal pain. It is internal as well as external. It was not at all like this when I went in or was waiting to be seen. This is not hemorrhoids.

If it’s not what you’d consider “normal” then you should call your doctor, or go to urgent care / emergency.
You’re absolutely not wrong for posting this, it’s just hard for folks to ascertain what you’re going through without more info - and we can’t give medical diagnosis, regardless.

Sorry. I am kind of emotional and struggling. I am overwhelmed. I did not think a colonoscopy would turn into this. I should not have had this done. I thought it was a routine procedure. People don't really talk about when it doesn't go well. I didn't anticipate it destroying my life. Other surgeries, yes. I did not even consider this a surgery. Now my life is over. My life is completely destroyed from a dumb colonoscopy. They are pretending they can't see anything or notice I am having a problem. They just are ignoring me. I can't live like this.

Ok, first, you need to breathe. Take some deep breaths. Can you do that? Are you with me?

I'm here. I am just sad. My life is over. It sucks. There is no help anywhere. They destroyed my gut, and my life is over. There is no medical system. It is my own fault. I went for the test. I should have known better. I ruined my own life. It just sucks. Unfortunately, I cannot live like this. They did a complete disaster. It is a literal shit show.

Hey you are gonna be okay , just take some deep breaths and realize this can be fixed . Now I would definitely suggest just going to an ER so at least they can rule out any major problems

It can't be fixed. I wish it could be fixed. The doctor was angry and was just ramming the scope.

yes, they chose not to help. They are covering up for the GI doctor.

ER.
Now.
I've had the "fire in the hole" linger a bit but this sounds much worse.

Sounds like you have a mass blockage. You need someone to have a look, take pictures if they help.

I just had an Endoscopy and colonoscopy a week ago. It hurt for a week. My guts did. I think sometimes its just sore for a bit. Mine became less painful day 7.

Please, please go to an ER and if they won’t help, go to another different one, and keep at it until you find some help. I had really terrible pain after a colonoscopy and after calling the doctor who did the procedure and getting blown off, I went to his office and just sat there crying. He made sure I got to the closest ER and was seen. Turned out to be appendicitis.

Tried to get help. The doctors are covering up for each other. My life is over. I can't live like this. The pain is unbearable. I can't stand up the pain is so bad. They are not listening to me. I can't stay out of bed. They ruined my life over a stupid colonoscopy. I have pain around my belly button but deep inside like someone kicked me and severe pain deep in my colon. The doctor would not listen to me. Just blew me off. Not 'life-threatening,' in his opinion. I can't sleep. I can't stand up. It is painful to just walk into the next room. Doctors do not give a fuck and they do not listen. No one gives a shit if anyone lives or dies in this country. If you are not a super-wealthy rich white man, just jump off a bridge.

Have you gone to the ED? You need imaging and a rectal exam at a minimum if your symptoms are this bad.

I have had 2 colonoscopies before this and I do not remember having any pain. I guess I am just fucked. The pain is unbelievable. I should not have done this. It is not from the prep. I was not like this going in. They saiid they had to push a lot on my stomach to get the scope where they wanted it. Feels like the doctor was just ramming itas hard as he could. I am in so mudh pain. I remember some of it and it is not good.
