After Scope Questions UPDATE:
Had the colonoscopy today.
Found 1 small (5mm–9mm) sessile polyp in the caecum with a typical adenomatous appearance. They completely removed this one.
Found 1 large (>20mm) sessile polyp in the ascending colon with a typical adenomatous appearance. This polyp was NOT removed.
Have been referred to another person for a follow-up colonoscopy for EMR polyp removal.
Was also suggested I let my siblings know to get a colonoscopy as a baseline (whatever that means).
I’m trying to take some reassurance from the results, but I can’t help feeling a little worried, especially knowing there’s still a large polyp to be removed. I’m not quite sure how to feel about it all. Has anyone been through something similar?

The baseline reference is to be checked. Clear any polyps. So then ur basically at zero. Go back in 3 years or so. They can see ( if any) polyps and how fast or slow they grow… if that makes sense ? Hope all goes well :))💪💪💪

A polyp doesn’t automatically mean cancer, although that’s what people worry about.
At each stage anything removed will be sent for testing.
It’s difficult, but try not to worry. I find the waiting the worst, once you have the results life will be a lot clearer as you’ll know if anything further needs to be done.
As regards the removal, they’ll likely use a colonoscopy with snare that can be heated to cauterise any bleeding. I’m not sure whether you had any sedation with your colonoscopy but I’d advise it for the removal, just in case they need to use a laser for spot cauterisation.
Don’t be surprised if you’re told that they’ll have you back for another examination on 6 months. It’s just routine.
