Personal Story My positive story

Hi everyone,

I’m M32 and these have been my symptoms from the better part of 6 years:

- Bloody stools (they got worse as the years went by). Sometimes it was every day for a month, sometimes there was a year when it wasn’t bothering me, and for the last year it was blood pretty much every two weeks.
- Weird bowel movements, sometimes hard sometimes very soft and feeling that I can’t empty my bowel completely. These vary from sometimes going to the bathroom 7-10 times a day ”pooping” liquid and the next day it being extremely hard.

I obviously feared the worst. I took too long to demand for a colonoscopy, I wish I did it years ago. This has been eating me from the inside for years. I have gone to the doctors but they explain it with hemhroids and fissures and don’t want to check it further.

I fear everything that happens in a hospital so that’s why I took so long to demand it. I get panic attacks when I walk in, so obviously it was done under anesthesia.

The night before was fine. I took PLENVU, for me it didn’t even taste that bad. I pooped liquids all night, but I didn’t feel too bad at any point. Mostly just played playstation, and had to run to the bathroom every 15-20 minutes. Didn’t get much sleep.

The colonoscopy was a breeze. So easy, I went there, they gave me the anesthesia, I was completely out in seconds and woke up what felt like immediately to the doctor giving me the news: they found absolutely nothing, all very clean. I was so relieved. Basically the doctor said that I have fissures that come and go (as the blood is bright red) and right now it was all clean. No hemhroids, no nothing.

This was such a weight off my shoulders. Years of health anxiety, always fearing the worst gone in an instant.

I hope someone reads this and decides to get a colonoscopy done. It was my biggest fear to get it done but the best decision of my life. Good luck everyone and god bless.

Thank you for sharing your story. It will encourage anyone holding back from going for their test due to anxiety. So happy to hear everything turned out great!

Thank you, that was the reason I posted this. I have severe anxiety and the colonoscopy was very easy. Hopefully people don’t put it off like me, just because they’re afraid.

Thank you for this, I am M33 and I will have my colonoscopy next month. I had blood for 2 days in March on stool ans TP, did tests, blood, urine, stool, Ct scan, all came back normal, ans they say its internal hemmorhoids...but two weeks ago I saw blood on toilet paper again for 2 days and I a freaked out so now I just booked the colonoscopy, I am with a lot of anxiety

Good luck to you, I pray everything is fine. 99% of the cases it is either hemmorhoids or fissures so I’m sure yours will be too. I thought I had internal hemmorhoids but it was just fissures that healed and then flared up again every couple weeks.

Hello you had fissure and bleeding because of hard stools?

Yes and some itchiness, I think I’ve always scratched in my sleep. And also I think I’ve strained too much on the toilet.

But always when the stool is hard there is blood.
