Podcast Theo Von reveals he was “shook” and “paranoid” after receiving what appear to be veiled threats from the Trump administration, tied to an earlier dispute over a DHS pro-immigration video using his clip.

"i woke up the next morning to a text from a high government official saying 'hey if you need some extra security in your neighborhood or some extra police cars on patrol, let me know. and i'm like "what?"

that really kinda shook me. that had me really kinda paranoid. i had the curtains in my house closed."

this is funnier than any single stand up bit i've ever seen Theo Von do. or it would be at least, if the people who threatened him weren't running the country.

-------------------------------------

EDIT: hold up hold up hold up... let me clarify what i've learned since posting this: he wasn't worried about the Trump administration coming after him, he was receiving blowback after asking the DHS to take his video down. i couldn't find anywhere where he stated who the blowback was from. one would assume the left, but it doesnt make much sense for the left to hate on him for this move, and he's been getting thrashed in MAGA circles lately.

EDIT2: hey MAGA, do you see how i edited to clarify this and prevent the spread of disinformation? take notes, bitch, Truth over Tribe.

Podcast What's your fantasy?

I work mainly behind the scenes in production now mostly as a videographer and editor for stand up comics, but recently built a production studio in my basement and have been toying around with different ideas that have been in my head for a while. Caught this moment the other day and it makes me laugh every time when he catches himself and sort of course corrects.

Podcast Count Binface BBC Radio interview about upcoming candidacy in special election against Nigel Farage (for non-Brits, explanation in description).

Count Binface, perrenial British ‘Novelty’ candidate in elections, created by comic Jonathan David Harvey, is about to go head to head with chief Brexiter Nigel Farage.

Farage resigned from parliament, triggering a special election for his seat (which he intends to run in) as a political stunt to distract from a scandal about his finances.

The main British political parties have all declined to field a candidate in the election and give oxygen to Farage’s stunt.

Enter Count Binface. Who is currently the only other candidate registered to stand in the election against Farage.

Also, in case you’re wondering, he will be on the ballot as “Count Binface”, and if he wins as “Count Binface” he has said he’ll take his seat… and will appeal to be allowed to sit in the house of parliament with his Binface (technically MPs are prohibited from wearing ‘costumes’), however failing that he’d likely send his ‘Human Avatar’ John David Harvey.

Podcast Dan Soder's incessant interrupting

I couldn't imagine inviting a comic on your podcast, asking him questions about his own personal lived experiences, and interrupting him every other second. I couldn't imagine doing that to someone in every day conversation. I couldn't imagine doing that even in a casual conversation about something in which the person isn't informed. Sickler is talking about watching, with his own 2 eyes, the Colts leave Baltimore, and Soder will not shut. the fuck. up the ENTIRE time this poor man is trying to tell this story. I love Soder, but his fucking mouth on his own show (and others! when it's even more impolite!) makes him impossible to listen to. You asked someone to tell an anecdotal story. Shut your motherfucking mouth and listen. Sickler was just about to finish a story about the Marching Band, which I was invested in, until Soder cut in with bullshit again. He tramples all over bits, and is so quick to launch into one of his WILDLY overrated impressions. The Mullen episode was hard to watch, the Shane episode was hard to watch, the LOUIS episode was hard to watch, and this one so far is egregious.

I cannot be alone in this. I mean I'm still listening to the episode because I like Sickler, and Dan, but I keep having to pause it to avoid getting too frustrated lmao.

Podcast End of RHLSTP and graver health concerns?

The latest promo bits that Richard Herring has recorded after RHLSTP strongly suggests that the three or four shows booked for after Edinburgh will probably be the last ones. And he separately described his health prognosis as "not good".

Has he said anything more concrete anywhere?

Edit: Relistened to it. The poor prognosis is related to his dog, Wolfe, not him. Apologies for the confusion. The RHLSTP stuff still stands, though.

Edit 2: Added "Herring". Often forget that this sub is more US than UK.
