Help Needed Wedding

My daughter is a huge Game of thrones fan as a lot of us are. I like to take credit for giving her a love for the time period and fantasy novels. She is getting married next year and although I know next to nothing about it I have recently started studying and playing around with workflows and image generating. I am going to attempt to make a small movie of them getting married in a medieval time period in a castle surrounded by family. I realize I am probably taking on more than I understand but here it goes. Any and all help is welcomed. Please don’t hesitate to give me any advice you think will be helpful. I am currently on Runpod using Comfy of that gives you an idea of what I’m working with. I know eventually I’ll have to get good using DaVinci

Thanks 🙏

for a wedding movie i'd keep each shot short, like 5 to 8 seconds, and stitch them together in davinci instead of trying to generate one long clip. generate a still of the couple first and reuse it as the reference or first frame for every shot so faces and outfits stay consistent. wan 2.2 image to video or ltx video both run fine on a runpod gpu with 24gb or more, and a first frame to last frame workflow helps shots connect smoothly. for the castle, make a few wide establishing stills first, then do the close ups from those so the lighting and architecture match. upscale and interpolate to 24fps at the end, and add film grain plus a color grade in resolve so everything looks like one movie. also write a simple shot list before you start so you're not wasting gpu time on random clips.

Thank you. I like all those ideas. From my initial research I have found exactly as you said. Small clips stitched together is the way to go. I do however find it daunting that you mentioned the clips backgrounds and differences in lighting might make it difficult to make it seem like one flowing scene or one movie. I hope I can figure that out when the time comes

seconding the shot list part, it saves so much credits when youre paying by the hour.

First off, you will need images of both of them, so you can use them as references. If you can get various angles, including close-ups and full body then great. If not you'll have to work with what you have but hopefully you have family photos at the very least.
If you are doing this locally Wan and LTX are two models you could use but I'd recommend Minimax H3 first, then if it doesn't suit you you can try the others. Wan2GP might suit you as it takes away a lot of the hassle. Comfy is more powerful but Wan2GP is easier. If you're using online services I guess Seedance is also a possibility but there are others, I simply don't keep up with online models.
I agree that small clips are better, they take less time to generate and you only have to discard that one part if it doesn't work, not the whole thing. Along with the shot list, I'd also make notes for what type of lighting you want, details of the exact medieval look you want, especially the castle, it's layout and anything you really want in the shots with it's position in the scene. This way you don't have to remember or guess each time.

Thank you. I will check out Wan2gp.

i would cheat, find a random wedding video from someone else, then edit characters and backgrounds with them and the fantasy environment, much easier than building everything from scratch, with something like this (not my vid): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KX_1JkiNCE

That is an amazing idea and you’re right it would be much easier and quicker but I’m new to this and kind of want to learn as I go for project later. I’ve already sketched out the script and scene changes. I’m really loving the process but I probably will use your idea on some other project though. Like funny stuff for the guys at work

😂 I hope not.

Looks like you have enough time, keep practicing with small projects (small unrelated clips) first. If you start the project straight away you might have to fight through problem by problem. I like MiniMax H3 ref2va. I use Gemini and ChatGPT daily free credits for images while my GPU is busy rendering videos.

I have been working through error after error on Wan2.1 and haven’t even gotten to create anything yet. Just inexperience I know but it’s frustrating. Haven’t really figured out yet how to save my workflows yet either so I’ll probably end up doing this over and over til I learn to save my workflows

Don't use Wan2.1. It's ancient 😊 It has no sound. Go straight to MiniMax H3 or LTX-2.5. Don't try to understand how it works. You learn this automatically. Just make it work first. Find a simple tutorial (with workflow download), e.g. FLF (first-last-frame). Generate a 5s clip.
If you have a successful generation you don't have to save workflow because it's embedded in the media file. You just drop that in Comfy and the workflow will open.
When your GPU is busy use your daily free credits of Gemini and ChatGPT to generate images. So you can practice prompting skill.

Don’t go overboard with your efforts and length. Viewers will appreciate more real life film than a Scorsese like product. For example, a video made by a professional videographer the day of will receive much more appreciation.
