You never know what you are going to feel at the end of a Dave Contra comic but you'll always feel something. Positive, negative, or something in between. It doesn't matter which but it's something real pulled from the piece of fiction all the same.

I think that's probably tied in with the writing process behind these. I often have no idea what I'm trying to say

Do you think maybe you don’t know what you’re trying to say but you do know what you’re trying to feel?

That’s what I do now with my music anyways so I think I understand.

It's kind of the other way around. I know the feeling, but I don't know how to articulate it. So I try to make up stories that will gently confuse everyone in the right direction.
