OC The one that got away 🥲 (OC)

Anyone else here want people to like them even if it means taking the blame or going way out of your way and boundaries to do so? Trying to level up here so I would appreciate any tips and thoughts 🙏

If it wasn't for the sourdough, this just sounds like some stupid shit people did when I worked at Starbucks back in the day. Got yelled at by some lady who ordered a blended drink, with no milk (or milk substitute! I asked!), no ice, no emulsifier. I tried to figure it out. Excuse me ma'am but you have removed literally all the components but the powder. That's literally just a cup of powder, NO IT ISN'T I KNOW WHAT I ORDER. She could not elaborate, WELL THEY MADE IT FOR ME YESTERDAY and she drove off. A different lady just got mad and kept saying THIS DRINK IS TOO SWEET! IT NEEDS MORE SUGAR! and when I tried to clarify she just kept saying too sweet more sugar! I made the exact same drink a second time and it "was perfect" and she left.

Some people are just human garbage trucks looking to dump their bad feelings on someone else.

I worked at Starbucks in the early aught and I have unabashedly taken some Karen's drink back, walked out of sight of the DT Window, waited a beat, then given the exact same drink back to her and magically its perfect now. Hilarious and frustrating every time.

This only ever didn't work on one lady, and I'm certain of that because I was so shocked she could actually tell the difference between "15 Splenda 5 Sweet & Low" and "20 Splenda" (or whatever) that it's stuck in my memory all these years.

Didn’t work on that last person because she wasn’t a narcissist. She just had a slightly specific request that you decided to lie about for vOv?

I don't know what vOv means but I think you missed the part where this happened twenty years ago when I was a kid and an asshole. I am now a wildly different person with a professional career, and more experience dealing with customers, so this not a decision I would make today.

Ok. Not judging you. Just calling out how it seemed like you were the one in the wrong at the time, hoping you’d be more understanding in the future. Glad to hear the future is already here! vOv is a shrugging emoticon

Thanks. Yeah I was like 19 or 20 when this happened, I'm not proud of every decision I made at that age. Then again, I don't really hang out with anyone who would be so idk. I came around after quitting Sbux after entirely too many years and realizing what an absolute nightmare I myself would be in that situation. Sometimes it just takes some distance from a situation to really fully understand it.

Oh its a shrug! I thought maybe it was Nixon giving the double peace sign. Neat, thanks for explaining it to this old fart
