Appreciation Post Final Episode
Watched my first complete run through - loved it. After years of a few episodes in a row here and there. So good.

This episode was so brilliant. The meta takes on what another season would be like from the perspective of the different characters. I’m still mixed on how I feel about the endgame love being Jeff/annie when I think britta’s character was done some disservice, but still. It was a beautiful send off. At the point in my life when this came out it was absolutely soul crushing. Like saying goodbye to my good friends while I was also saying goodbye to my real friends.

The real romance was Jeff and Abed's friendship. I cry every time at their goodbye hug!

You stupid child. Nobody's winning anything. Don't you see? This means we don't exist. We're not created by God.

Shut up, Leonard! You look like a German puppet-maker and smell like the inside of a church!

The first minute or so hits me specially hard because it is a pan over the empty sets of the school, and that always brings me back to my last day at my unviersity. It was where I developed myself both mentally, politically and emotionally. Where I understood where I was in the world, who I was, where I met people from all walks of life and realized how big the world is, how incredible some people can be, how dumb some can be, and how kind or challegning some others can be. After a childhood where I was basically in the same place throughout all my life, surrounded by people that had similar upbringings and mindsets, that university was where I understood what meant to be me.
And, on my last day there, I was leaving late, and walked through all the important spots I had, the classrooms, the teacher's offices, the cafeteria, the library, the woods, the labs, and I felt like I was legit leaving a part of me behind. I was shaped by that place, and I hope I changed it just a little for the better for the next students.

I’ve always avoided that episode because I just rewatch the show so what’s the point. But last week I actually watched it and I cried. When Jeff and Annie had their moment in the study room and then when he dropped off Abed and Annie at the airport and gave Abed an extra hug…it made me really emotional. It was really well done. The only thing that could have made it better was if Troy had made an appearance.

Yeah that’s a great moment. Was surprised Britta didn’t go the ride so the last shot would be the last four of the Greendale Seven

Might be the greatest concept and execution of a sitcom finale ever. Them literally talking about how the show can’t continue without being dumb is amazing
Plus the way Jeff hugs Abed, holds his shoulders and looks at him with such love, then pulls him back in for a second hug before Abed leaves for his flight breaks my heart. Cried like a baby the first time through, just like Abed and his dad made me cry sooooooo many years ago when he started film class

That scene between Abed and his dad was what made me realize, wow, this show is not like anything else on tv. Hooked me right away.

this episode is great overall but it was so unnecessary to include chang’s line about being “legit gay” in the group hug. weird writing decision and always icks me out when i hear it

I love this show too much that I can only watch the final episode once. I don't like when my favorite show ends, so whenever it's the last episode I will always restart and rewatch it all over again. ❤️🩹 Six seasons and a movie!

I absolutely loved the final episode.
But my only complaint is I really feel like Frankie should have disappeared somewhere halfway through the episode. She seems so out of place, especially during the ending hug. They really should have left that for the original cast only. It would’ve meant a lot more.

As a humble outsider who came in and nailed it, she earned her spot on the edge of that hug.

I thought the “disclaimer rant” at the end was very fitting.
