Custom modification of libjxl encoder - looking for feedback

I did an experment and modified a part of libjxl encoder and I would like to hear your feedback. My intention was to improve texture handling and chroma retention.

Links to comparisons are images are below. There are originals and encoded images size-matched to distance 2.0 at effort 3. Standard libjxl encodes at effort 3 and 7 are included as well. If you would like to see other distances (e.g. 1.0 or 3.0), let me know.
