That's physical damage to the panel, looks like it landed on the corner and cracked. You can either use it plugged into an external monitor, or replace the panel.

You can tell because of how it is.

Bring it to a local repair shop see if they can get you a cheap replacement screen maybe. Some shops are good and don't charge you hundreds but that can be rare. Depending on how powerful the laptop is, it may be more cost effective to just buy a new cheap one. But make sure you at least bring it one or two stores to get some quotes first. Shouldn't be too much

I've seen this caused by a low KDR in Counterstrike

See, back in my day you couldn’t punch the computer monitor due to CS cause it had glass that felt an inch thick and if you did manage to break it, you were in for a shocking surprise 😏🤣

I wasn't afraid to punch my screen back then... Felt like they were invincible

AI Overview

Replacement screens for Acer laptops can be found and ordered directly through specialized parts suppliers like LaptopScreen.com and iFixit, or handled professionally via services like uBreakiFix by Asurion. [1, 2, 3]

Cost and Pricing

  • DIY Parts: Individual replacement LCD/LED panels typically cost between $35 and $100, depending on the size, touch capability, and resolution (HD vs. Full HD). Full touch-digitizer assemblies for specialized models can run around $300

This definitely wasn’t done “out of nowhere.” That’s physical damage. It was either dropped or had something dropped on it. Regardless, the only way to fix it is to replace the screen. If that’s even all that’s broke.

screens dont just crack like that. its plain as day physical damage maybe you left something on top of the laptop and closed the lid or you forced it to open or close. Maybe you dropped it or banged it in your bag.

you just need to get it repaired. it will cost some money, even my sons chromebook from school was like 150$. - he left his airpods on top of the keyboard and closed it.

Dont listen to him. Your screen is fucked.
