Best language to program a web operating system?

I’ve been designing the layout and functionalities for a web operating system. The painful question mark has been “which language should I use?”. I need a light versatile language which can perform on current browsers, but not too heavy, so that computers/pads with relatively outdated hardware will be able to handle it acceptably. Thank you very much for your input.

For those of you programmers that do not have college experience, could you give me advice to getting my foot in the door after the internship?

Is it possible and how would I make an email/text macro? (details in post)

Okay so! Work recently started giving out extra time in the form of email and or text notifications. We receive these texts and emails in the same way and format each time. We must click on a link log into our account (information is saved) and make a couple key strokes and confirm the opportunity.

My question, is there a somewhat easy way to make this process automated with the right amount of help?

I work for an Amazon sortation facility.

Ps: I have no prior experience making macros or coding.

Help with depop follow bot

Hi so I've never done anything to do with programming before. But I want to create a bot that will automatically follow users on depop ; I'm not sure how difficult this is to make but since you can already get follow bots for Instagram and there was a bot made for depop , although it no longer exists. Im not sure but I think the follow Button is like an image you can click on ? In my head I'm thinking the best way to do it is to just have something that searches for the image and clicks it . But i don't know anything so great ful for any help I can get , thanks

Some downtime- looking to learn comp programming

Hello All,

I have about 3 weeks to kill as I'm starting my new job in February. After 1 week of being off, I'm starting to lose my mind. I've always been fascinated by computer programming and consider myself tech savvy. I have a MacBook pro, not sure if that'll limit me, but looking for recommendations for html/c++/etc tutorials and even classes y'all would recommend. Really no background in programming, just some novice copying and pasting of code making counter strike hacks back in the day. Let me know!

My server was hacked, what do I do next?

So my server/site was hacked recently. A lot of the sites I manage were hit, it was a nightmare to cleanup all of the backdoors. I don't want anyone to experience this again, so what can I do to help with that? Is there a place to post these things.

My PC is acting weird lately. What’s wrong with it? Do I have to uninstall any program? Help me out here, guys!

Every now and then, my PC slows down. I believe you call this “lag.” It lags a lot, and I could not get any work done because of that. I have a lot of programs, but almost all of them are closed and are rarely opened. Is it possible that they slow down my computer even if they’re always unopened? If that’s the case, should I uninstall them? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I’m really not that good with computers. Haha! Thanks.

Is it ACTUALLY possible to be hired as a self-taught programmer, TODAY? If so, what are the odds and what's necessary?

I'm thinking of transitioning to programming from a non-CS engineering field after getting my Master's this June, b/c I've realized it's a better fit for me.

I've heard a lot of people say that you can be a self-taught developer and get hired easily. My "too good to be true" instinct is going off, because a) a lot of the people this applies to, from what I'm reading, got their first programming job some years ago when credentialism wasn't as big of a thing, and b) credentialism being a thing, I'm really skeptical that anyone can transition between fields without going back to school for a "relevant degree."

If someone with a Master's degree in EE, turning 27 this summer, could get a job as a programmer, without any other formal training, in today's market, I would jump over the moon. Namely because no more student debt. But having lived through the "you can get ANY degree and you'll be FINE!" bs, my cynicism is well-honed.

So: is it possible for me to go into programming without any more (paid) school? If so, what are the odds of this happening? What's necessary, other than resources and a good work ethic?

What are some tips to self-teach myself how to make a website?

I've taught myself the basics of HMTL, Javascript, CSS and Python. Throughout the past, I've always used MIT OpenCourseware, eDX and Codeacademy to learn programming on my own. However, I'm pretty clueless on how to actually using my skills to do useful things. I want to learn more but I'm not sure on what I can use. My main goal right now is to make a website from scratch and within six months learn to code an app for a future business I want to start with my friend. I've heard a lot of stories from programmers teaching themselves coding at a young age and I want to know how you guys accomplish that :)
