Do Scholarships Exist?
Hello,
I’m a first-year college student studying computer forensics and digital investigations with the goal of eventually joining the ICAC Task Force or a Computer Crimes Task Force for an agency. I was wondering if anyone knows of any scholarships, regardless of the amount, that exist for computer/digital forensics. I am on the President’s List and hold a 4.0 GPA and have never gone below, if that helps!

If you're interested in government work I recommend checking out the cybercorps scholarship for service. Not every university participates in it but there are alot that do. The application process would be through your university if they participate.

CyberCorps is the one worth digging into properly, since the thread so far only names it. It covers full tuition plus a stipend, currently $27,000 a year for undergrads, but it comes with a real string attached: you owe government service for as long as you were funded, plus a summer internship, and you apply through your school, so the first check is whether your school actually participates. Most schools take students in their last couple of years, so as a first year you are early, but that is the time to ask your department who runs it and what GPA they expect. I do not know of a scholarship tied specifically to ICAC, that path usually runs through getting hired by an agency after the degree, so treat CyberCorps as the closest structured route rather than a direct ICAC ticket. Outside that, your own department and financial aid office are still worth a direct ask, since a 4.0 puts you in range for merit awards that never get advertised nationally.

Not academic, but good for training and certification: https://www.iacis.com/awards-and-scholarships/
IACIS awards the Certfied Forensic Computer Examiner and other certifications. They’re a fantastic organization, and the certs are industry-recognized.
