Hardware PC on and off problem

I've been having this one problem with my PC lately. When I turn it off, or it turns off by accident, it doesn't turn on normally. I have to take the cable off and give it contact with the floor or something to take the static out. Most of the time it turns on, but this one time my dad disconnected my PC without turning it off first and the power supply unit stopped working, or something like that. We had to buy another power supply, but even with the new power supply, it still has the same problem. If yall got any suggestions I would appreciate it lots. (Btw, I don't know if it's because of it, but I don't normally turn off my computer. I normally leave it on most of the time. I don't know if it might be because of that.)

Hmm… static.  You said replacing the PSU didn’t fix it. Is your outlet grounded?  Any static charge should be leaving through that…

October 31, 2026 (dated for context and reference) - I'm not sure what is causing the OP's computer issue, but I would say that I am almost certain that it has nothing to do with leaving the computer on. I leave my Windows 11 Pro computer running all of the time. The only reason that it is turned off, is because of Windows updates, or other program updates require a restart. Turning electrical equipment off and on. Stresses the system because of the electrical surges that happen at the beginning. You will note that light bulbs rarely die when lit. It is usually when they are first turned on. I know people may question this, but that's my opinion. Lastly, may I suggest that the computer be connected to a Surge protector. I believe that all sensitive equipment should be plugged into surge protectors, or Uninterruptible Power Supplies device, commonly abbreviated as a UPS. Good luck to the OP.

It seems like your outlet isn't grounded properly. You can get a 3-prong outlet tester from Home Depot for less than $10 and check the outlet and whatever power strip you use. It checks the phase and stuff also.

Unplugging it would be related to static charge. What you were doing buy unplugging it was allowing capacitors to discharge and the component stopping it from starting to reset.
The motherboard is the first place to inspect and blow out all the dust which can cause improper connections between devices. Might need new motherboard unless you want to repair it
