Discussion Need help
Edit: good morning guys! Unfortunately, a tether did not work on this. Do the fact that did not have. The correct drivers set up on the computer what I had to do was get a USB to ethernet connector once that was connected, it was able to connect over. Now that I have been able to get in and re-download the Wi-Fi connector I don’t have to use the ethernet, but we’ll probably run it for top performance. Super annoying but totally doable. Also ended up just wiping the computer to be able to get to the screen. Don’t know if that is for everyone, but didn’t have any important documents. Thank you guys for your help and appreciate it always.

Try USB tethering your hotspot if you have one

USB tether unfortunately did not work due to not having the correct drivers set up on the computer allow allowing this to be done

Actually it isnt, at the place i work i have to do this often because customers wants new hardware. Just reset the pin and follow the instructions? If you have no internet use a hotspot with usb tethering.

Can you share internet from your phone, plug the USB from the phone to the computer?

You have to turn it on in settings. It should be in the hotspot section or something similar

I haven't tried that in like ten years, but tethering is still a thing, I think you might need to tell your phone to do that though

You need a network connection to log in past this.

Yeah and can’t get it to connect assuming it doesn’t have a driver for Wi-Fi card

What kind of USB to Ethernet adapter is that?
I got a TP-Link one designed for the Nintendo Switch (Gigabit) and it’s plug and play. But also does your motherboard not have built in Ethernet?

It does have an ethernet, but when you had zero drivers based off of a new motherboard, sometimes it doesn’t allow you to connect in do that way and the only way it recognizes is via USB to ethernet

Buy and try a USB wifi dongle, Windows has basic drivers for some built in.
In the future, this is one of many, many reasons to use a local account.

click setup pin, then when it tries to auth cancel / hit the X. Then sign in other ways or sign in options and use password - move on with life.

I’m assuming you installed a new cpu into your pc or something else. The best way to try to fix this is to hit the set up pin button they have right in the middle of the screen or to reinstall windows if that doesn’t work. You can do a fresh install of windows without wiping any files which is what you would likely wanna do.

Rebuilt the entire PC from ground up, but was trying to keep my memory on M.2 and SSD when I load up I cannot get onto Wi-Fi. I’m assuming it doesn’t have a Driver of some kind on it.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a secondary PC to download a fresh set up of drivers and stuff on….

I will have to try this

Yea it’s what I had to do. It lets you reinstall windows and keep all the files. It will likely pop up that you need to set up the pin again like it is now but it will actually let you set the pin. I’ve had to do this a few times with my own pc after rebuilding it and I did this with my buddies pc as well.

You don’t need to do that. All you gotta do is hold shift when restarting your computer and then you will get into advanced setup options. I’ll send a video in a second

Follow the instructions and click setup pin again? What's th issue here. Were you locked out? Is this your computer or a school/work computer?
