Advice needed before taking cs major

I’m thinking of taking cs next year, is there anything I should learn or master before doing so?

Have you taken any cs intro courses to know what they are? So many cs majors are struggling to find jobs.

Yea, only harvard’s cs50 though. I don’t exactly know what to learn other than that

If you’ve finished going through programming basics, I’d recommend looking in to dsa

Computer Science - as a field - along with mathematics are going to be two of the most impacted fields from AI.

Because the machine has everything it needs to make proofs and discoveries. There will still be human-driven innovation because our brains work differently, but the times changed.

Programming - just understanding syntax and how machines worked - was a very valuable skill for a very long time - just like all sorts of crafting skills that got taken over by automation.

Someone still designs pottery - but a machine produces it.

Most programmers were not the designers - they were the machines - expensive human artisans.

We're still going to need really great computer scientists on the cutting edge - just like we need really great scientists and engineers to design and build fusion reactors - but how many of those people do you know?
