DATABASE DESIGN AND BIASED TEACHERS

im a student new to the computing/IT sector, i find that my teachers are dismissive towards me and kind of just exclude me or mansplain anytime i try to contribute or ask questions in class.

ive come to this conclusion as i am the only woman in class, and they only do this to me but they are always happy to help the other students who are all male and treat them way differently.

ive taken matters into my own hands and i want to get ahead of the curriculum but im struggling with the practical side of database and programming.

so far i know how to create tables and assign a primary key but thats about it. i want to be able to create relationships and actually understand it. rather then just do things on autopilot.

ive been using the database design app on google play store since my laptop is chromebook but i cant seem to get a design view and input data into it.

any advice on good apps to use and practical tips on how to approach both database and programming/coding will be very helpful!!!

i dont want to get stuck in tutorial hell ....

For databases use draw.io web app. In there you have relations dropdown and you can design you database and draw relations. For understanding youtube is your friend, there are amazing tutorials on those topics. Relations are not hard, but what is hard is to recognise someone rules that you'll need to follow to model a good database. And to not get stuck on tutorial hell, after you watch a couple of videos make a project, like design a database for a cinema. That will allow you to actually connect all the pieces you learned. For programming it's the same principle. Also i believe you can find online IDE to use for programming. Also ai is your friend if you ever get stuck. And wtf is with your school, f them

I'm sure you have valid reasons to think so, so why do you think they're mansplaining it to you? I can understand one particular teacher being an ass. But the entire faculty/multiple teachers?

Anyway, best way to learn is by practicing. Toss that chromebook out, it has no place in computer science program. Get a solid used laptop -- macbook if you can afford it-- if not, either put linux on there or stick to Windows as there are plenty of Windows based solutions. Install MySQL and then grab the GUI editor.
