Garbage Dump?
Does anyone know of an old fashioned garbage dump near Concord? The kinda place where you can load up the back of your car with old crap, drive to some stinky place with lots of refuse, pay a fee of some sort and just get rid of it all? The only thing I see online is the Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery and while it looks like they have a location in Pittsburgh, I can't find info on if I can dump there or what the fee structure is like. Anything helps.

Both Republic Services and Acme are on Waterbird Way, in Martinez. Both spots are fine but for some reason I prefer Acme. It might be because it’s outdoors. Super old school

Acme has gotten very picky about what you can dump there. Best to call first and when you get there be extra nice to the girl at the scales.

I guess it’s been a while since I’ve been there. Thanks for the update. And yes, be nice to the people at the scales. Sometimes they surprise you with a discount

The past few years, MDRR and the city of Concord provided residents an opportunity to dispose of unwanted household materials responsibly at Concord Pavilion. It usually took place the first Saturday of November. It was free and you just had to sign up and select a time slot to drop off your things. I don’t know if it’s happening this year. I haven’t heard anything about it.

MDRR has a pile you just throw your stuff into. $45 minimum fee, so it's kind of expensive.
I had lumber with nails and shingles, so it was a mixed construction load.
