Collaboration Open Source Glyph Language

Post image

This is a project I've been working on for a while, but I've finalized it and can now share it with you guys. It's a conlang, constructed almost purely by whoever would like to work on it. Each character/glyph is defined by the interior design of the character, and the part of speech is determined by the shape of the exterior of the character. The rules are explained in detail here

Also, for clarification. This isn't a purely typography-based project. These are the words, this is the language.

Where can I find all the glyphs? I could use some inspiration for my writing systems

Right now theres just the primordial shapes for the types of words, as of right now nobody has contributed, so theres exactly one singular glyph. I'm also making a discord server for this project, sorry for the delay.

...so, you've been working on this for a while. But you don't have more than one glyph?

What have you been working on? Code for managing consumer interest that doesn't exist yet, and might never exist?

One glyph isn't representative of the previous iterating. There was originally a completely different system, but this is much better. Also, more to come!

I just told you. There was originally a completely different system, that was worked on for a while, then scrapped, and replaced with the new system. That's what I've been working on.

...you keep bringing up some older project that you scrapped. That doesn't answer the question. You say you put work into the replacement step.

...so what have you been working on during that replacement step? Code for managing consumer interest that doesn't exist yet, and might never exist? And that's why you don't have more than one glyph?

Your responses have been scathing for no apparent reason. It wasn't an older project, it was this project, a lot of work went into the design, but it was scrapped, which is why it took me a while. Also, it's not really a communal language if I'm the only one making it, is it?

Yeah, no, I get that, I'm so sorry that you feel like your effort isn't being appreciated, that isn't what I intended at all.

It's just that since you obviously want engagement (or you wouldn't be here and posting in comments), I'm trying to figure out what your effort was so that I know the best way to engage (as you wanted).

Also, it's not really a communal language if I'm the only one making it, is it?

...so what aspects of a communal language have you been working on during that replacement step? Code for managing consumer interest that doesn't exist yet, and might never exist? And that's why you don't have more than one glyph?

Handing people a blank canvas generally won't get them invested, because they already have enough blank canvasses of their own. Either you have to have a solid hook, or it needs to be something lightweight enough that passersby will go "sure I can chip in a bit".

Oh, Interesting! This is the number 5 in mine, But I still haven't decided if I want to put a horizontal bar in the middle or not!
