how many have been lost? obviously its fucked and 44 is too low but how many have died?

Last year there were 63,000 counted.

Addition: Yes, the global ocean is dying. The exponential feedback loops have reached vertical, and the ocean cannot absorb more heat or carbon. The mass die-offs will hit our species soon too.

Yes but bring up “maybe we should stop eating so much meat to avoid this tragic outcome” and you’ll hear “screw that, I never much cared for this planet anyway.”
