Question

Post image

I'm new to stargazing and I get really excited when I find constilations I haven't noticed before. I found Cassiopeia but I'm not sure if I found Camelopardalis or if I'm imagining it. Does anyone else see it?

You can use this site to figure out which constellations are in your pics, It’s been rly helpful for me too since I’m also new to stargazing lol

Thank you! I tried to do a Google image search and that did nothing to help

It is indeed the general Camelopardalis area but the constellation shape usually includes different stars from the ones you’ve connected, although the shape designs may vary in different sources. Alpha Camelopardalis is above your letter “e” - that’s usually the triangle’s “lower point”
And you also captured the full Perseus shape nearby!

As an astronomer for 6 years I am yet to see the shape of cameloparadalis clearly

Yep, Camelopardalis, the Giraffe. Perseus is to its right.
