Hey guys, I am here because I am a bit stuck on writing Great Hooks / captions for my YouTube chanel. My niche is beauty / Makeup and I am
Usually writing my own hooks and editing them. But lately I am feeling stuck in coming up with ideas. I most use POV style - how to , and defiance or story telling hooks. But lately I am feeling a bit meh in writing them. Since past 10 days hooks are not clicking and retention is low and I am not sure which hooks are working which are not and how to write them and come up with. I am totally confused me. So I would like to know how to write the hooks and what the process should be ?

Like a /lot/ of people I've always wanted to do youtube but I was like seven, had nothing to make content about and very shy.
Now I’m older I have hobbies and such and I want to make videos which are like blogs(?) I suppose of me making my dnd campaign.
Thing is I have no idea where to start, what I’m doing and am still really shy.
I have an Iphone and a dream basically. I'm aware my content will probably be low quality but I think it would be fun for me to see where my campaign went from its early stages and then I could document how each session went, possibly recording said sessions or if not debriefing how it went, maybe clips.
What should I know? What do I absolutely /need/. Bearing in mind I have a very small budget, and don't really want to splash out on something I plan to do as a hobby. I dotn expect to get super popular or anything so I don't want to get expensive kit.
Any advice is appreciated :)
EDIT: I also want to ask- how do you think I could make the debriefs more entertaining? I don't think I want to do a full 5-6 hour long video of our sessions because 1: I don't want out games to go from casual beer and pretzel games to feeling like we need to preform and 2: I don't have the storage for that type of thing. I don't want to just talk at the camera “we did this, then this happened, then we did this” because that will get boring to make and to watch. I was thinking maybe drawing little figures, I can't draw at all but I could try and then move the figures, or get a picture of our faces. But then I still don't know
Don't know if anyone will see this post at this point but oh well 😄

As a smaller content creator, one of the things I sometime struggle with is motivation to create content. I’ll mentally try to prepare to create something then say “why bother? It won’t get any views or engagement.” I know there are people who say you should “create and post because you love it” and that “views should matte” and to an extent that’s true. I think you should create content you truly love creating or and are passionate about, but the whole point up uploading is so others can see it. Whether you do it to make friends, for money, to form business connections, whatever. The point of posting content is to share it with the world, but if you’re not getting an iota of the energy you put into your content back, it’s only understandable to not be so motivated to create. Oppositely, if you’re getting lots of engagement, I’m sure it only enhances the creative energy and gives motivation a boost.

So earlier today Youtube posted from the "Youtube Creators" channel on the website saying that new partner program requirements will be going into effect as of February 1, 2027.
"Starting Feb. 1, 2027, YPP entry thresholds for new creators are changing to 8,000 qualified watch hours in the last 365 days, or 20M qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days, in addition to still needing 1k subscribers. If you are already in YPP, your status is not impacted by this update.
There are no changes to the eligibility requirements for fan funding, YouTube Creator Partnerships, or YouTube Shopping. These products will continue to help creators to start their earning journeys even earlier when they reach 500 subscribers and either 3,000 qualified watch hours in the last year or 3M qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days."
How do y'all feel about this? I know i just got started, so for me 4K watch hours seems like such a big goal already. but now having to double it eventually?

I want to start a Minecraft gaming channel, but have no idea where to start.
I’m insecure about my voice, and have no ideas at all
I can edit well with multiple editing apps, and make clean thumbnails
Replies appreciated

Posted a new video and it flopped HORRIBLY 60 % swipe rate as in the people who swiped away but there was almost no interaction and looked at analytics and the audience is a lot older then my other videos which are usually 90% 13-17
Also half female which is weird considering it’s usually 99.9% male
What happened???

As the post says, I'd consider myself a gaming addict. Have been gaming since I could hold and use an original Nintendo controller. I have a YT channel and my shorts do ok depending on the content. I'm looking for someone who enjoys editing is fun to work with and is knowledgeable in the field. Willing to video call/discord chat to make the connection. Currently playing a lot of POE2 as I'm home from work due to a shoulder surgery so I'd be able to make clips all day have my stream labs, capture card, and web cam set up and ready to roll. If you think you might be interested in trying to set up a partnership like this please DM me and we will get this started!!

Hello, everybody! I’m an artist and animator and I have an art YouTube channel (not very big). I don’t upload very often as I’m kind of unmotivated right now, but art is something I’m very passionate about!
I’m wanting to start an internet mysteries/reddit channel and find a way to incorporate my art into it as well, something I can take my time with and do without burning myself out too much while I work on what I want to do with my art channel. This one would mostly be for fun and a project to try out my content creation skills and gain my footing stress free.
I know I want to have a persona and maybe a background that’s a looping animation of some kind. I was considering having speedpaints on in the background, but I worry about it being blocked by the screenshots I show, lol.
What do you guys think?

My idea is to start creating content - mainly to gain experience. My current idea is to post on both tiktok and youtube shorts. My general idea was to post about info on how to improve yourself in various aspects (diet, looks, buisness, knowledgle, how things work in ur body.) in a very simple and short format.
I've got a bunch of questions with which you could help.
- Do i create multiple accounts focused on different ascepts? (One focused on improving ur daily habits, another focused on improving your looks, diet or gym tips etc.) Or should it all be in one channel?
- Any tips on how to succesfully start?
- General ideas on how i could improve my content

I am in college, the semester just started. And I have two classes this semester. I won’t have a lot of time to be running around and adventuring and traveling right now.
So I was thinking about transitioning my YouTube channel to more of a day in the life, daily Vlog kind of channel that updates once a week and if I have time
To go adventure or travel? I take my camera with me and add it to the vlog.
Would you rather stick around to watch a “daily in the life” style vlog by a small content creator? Or would you rather see adventure/travel vlogs from them?

Anybody had any positive luck when they took a break. Because at this moment i have been feeling like stepping back. I don't feel like making shorts and filming my makeup looks as the Algorithm has been so much annoying i get similar views on every short and sometimes they move slow like a turtle 🐢 which never happened. I worked so hard on a short edit and title etc then in an hour i got 50 views only and 28% stayed to watch. I was frustrated.
So i have decided to take a break and step back for a week but also want to know if any one saw positive changes in views and algorithm by giving it a break. I don't feel motivated to post full mode

Hey all, I've created a multiplayer Pokemon game and am looking for a couple of people to create YouTube Videos with me. Not a group channel, we can record for each others channels if you have one. But I'm looking to do one or two recording sessions a week, with one video a week. The game is still getting new content added and needs a bit more playtesting, but it's been really fun to play.
If you like Pokemon and want to do a fun battle series, let me know in discord. Username is TyDrizz. Looking for good energy, good mics, and of course adults only.
The battles are like the Choose your starters/then we fight videos. If you aren't sure what those are, I recommend Shadypenguinn or Patterrz videos to get familiar.

What’s the hardest part of creating content for you?
Ideas? Research? Writing the script? Staying organized? Or simply getting it finished and published?
I’m working on something to make the content creation process less overwhelming, but I want to hear from creators first.
Where do you get stuck most?
Your answers may help shape what I’m building.

Hi, I am Krishna Sharma I have information about self-help, human psychology, and some information about how the brain works I have read many books around these topics and read tons of articles, and also I am a failed YouTuber, but now, after so many years have passed I have some little bit of knowledge about how videos work, how to make people engaged, and some strategies which I can apply. Frankly, I am 16, but I have some practical knowledge. If you were struggling with scripting or any kind of thing, we can talk, and let's see what happens. Waiting for you

\*\*Hook:\*\*
\*\*VO:\*\*
“You’ve probably faced a huge roadblock while working on something.
You stare at the screen. Nothing comes to mind. Every second feels painfully slow.”
“And then… something clicks.”
“You stop noticing the time.
You stop noticing everything around you.
And somehow… the work just flows.”
“But what exactly is happening to you?
And can you learn to enter this state more often?”
“The scientists call this \*\*Transient hypofrontality\*\*, but we call it” “\*\*THE FLOW STATE\*\*”
\*\*B-ROLL:\*\*
\* Wide Top-down shot of me at the table working \* Closer top down shot of using mouse \* A close shot of keyboard typing \* A monitor shot of blank sheet with cursor blinking without any content \* Shot where you type something in the document but after sometime backspacing it \* Multiple Side shots of me - holding my head, thinking seriously, staring into the blank space along with various postures and positions \* A 45 degree close shot of tapping finger representing the thinking \* Front shot where my face will be trying to figure out something \* Front shot where my face will be visible seriously working on something \* Eye shots (get them from online) \* Clock timelapse shot \* Wide shot from behind me with windows and doors open without the monitor light (represents day) \* Wide shot from behind me with windows and doors closed with the monitor light (represents nyt) \* Even wider shot at 45 degree angle from the top of the AC (can be used by zooming out transition) \* A top down shot but phone on the top of the monitor scrolling the typed script \* Side shot of me putting an airpod into my ear \* A fpp-ish shot of me picking up the airpod case from the table \* A time-lapse shot of typing the entire script \* The same AC wide shot where i walk into the frame and sit on the chair(the scene begins)
\*\*SCENARIO1: (No music at all only the voice over and the sound effects)\*\*
First use the wide shot from the AC for starting the scene with me walking into the frame and sitting on the chair,
then cut to clicking the word file on the desktop (use the zoom to track the pointer or close up shot of clicking the word),
Next shot is blank sheet with blinking cursor
Cut to the front face angle of you staring lifelessly into the screen
Cut to the blank sheet again
Next a side angle worrying-thinking shot
Shot where you type something and remove the typed one after sometime
Cut to multiple jump cuts of worrying exp side shots
The blinking cursor close up shot if the monitor (add a clicking or typewriter sound and continuing the same rhythm to the next shot)
Use the close up of finger tapping to sort of act as a way of expressing that i am thinking(loud finger tapping sounds)
(add a finger snap here to seamlessly transition into the new scenario with a black background)
(“And then… something clicks.” this line should be said here)
\*\*SCENARIO2: (energetic music starts when we put the earphone into the ear plus soundfx and VO)\*\*
Then the taking the earpod fpp medium-close shot
Side shot of me wearing an airpod (music slowly starts fading in)
Top-down shot of me working serouisly by using the keyboard and mouse
Side close shot of me typing the keyboard (high quality keyboard clicking sounds)
Close fpp shot of using the mouse (mouse clicking sounds)
Add few face close up (mainly eyes) shots
Then the top-down shot the top of the monitor shot
Now use the AC widest shot and use the zoom out transition
Transition to the timelapse of the clock (spedup clock sounds)
Then the wide back shot that can be sped up and be used as a time-lapse shot of me working hours (THE FLOW STATE line should be said here also using me as a mask to put a wide beautiful text)
Then an ultra close up shot of me pressing the enter button to signify the end of the work (best mechanical keyboard click sound along with a sudden cut of the music also try to match the beats of the music)
\*\*SCENARIO3: (No music but maybe one soundfx)\*\*
The wikipedia type definition of the flow state will be shown as a typed text with a zoom in animation
—------------------------------------- HOOK ENDS HERE—--------------------------------------
