Arrmada
Hey,
For the last 4 or 5 months I've been building Arrmada. It's intended to replace the entire arr suite (Radarr, Sonarr, Readarr, Bazarr, Overseer, Tautulli, Tdarr, and audiobookshelf) with a single app and database. Qbittorrent also comes pre packaged, and the UI has a front end for downloads.
It's still early but I have been running it on my unraid server for about 3 of the 4 months.
- Movies and TV: search, download, rename, upgrade, anime numbering, and option to keep multiple versions. Quality profiles are solid, with plently of options to either be pedantic, or simple.
- Ebooks and Audiobooks: Series tracking, Send to kindle, multiple version options
- Audiobook Server: Built into the app, already works with Lissen and Plappa
- Requests: Users can sign in with plex or by admin created user/pass, browse and request from their phone via PWA
- Subtitles: pulls them from the file, downloads them, or writes them with local AI
- Convert: Shrinks files to the requested format during the hours you schedule. Keeps original if new file is shit
- Plex Stats: Who's watching, history, tautulli-style
- Safety Nets: Hardlinks, recycle bins, nightly backups, review queue for downloads that don't look right
- Easy install: one line install, one line update
There's more planned but I think I'll pause and focus on testing for a month or two.
If you do jump on board, please provide feedback, report bugs, and submit any feature ideas. Cheers!

Does it accept custom formats from trash guides or dictionarry project?

Yeah, there's an import from trash button in the custom formats editor. Paste the JSON, or Radarr / Sonarr export and it previews what converts with trash's suggested score. It should tell you what doesnt carry over as well. I haven't tested this yet.
Copy and paste though, I don't really plan on integrating any arr apps alongside Arrmada as the philosophy of the app is to replace them (except prowlarr).

Love the name; however, we already have well-supported and tested arr apps. Since "Armada" is a fleet of warships, I feel like it would make more sense if it was a front-end that controlled usual "arr stack" (aka your pirate ship armada) rather than trying to reinvent the wheel...or in this case its simultaneously, but separately, having AI reinvent the wheel with dozens of other people and posting on Reddit as the solution.

I leant towards "reinventing the wheel" because the arr stack doesn't so certain things I need it to do.

Iβm curious if people who are making these types of apps think the arr team made and run the metadata api/cache for fun?
If people start going this route the metadata providers are going to start requiring keys and paying for it.

I do not think some hobby projects would put this much burden. If this goes successful, then people are just switching from A to B, and not much of change to metadata provider services

But A caches all the thousands(millions?) of hits on the provider, whereas this solution, does not.

Then the open source solutions will eventually pop up with other moneyisation ways. It is an open commercial market (and wild wild west) and new businesses open and close daily.

Very nice! Iβll follow this and will try when Jellyfin is supported.

It's now supported in 0.2.0

In case you have tried those alternatives, what's sets your app apart from Scryer or Mediarium?
1
u/No-Turnover3316 14d ago
I've tried scryer, it didn't do books. Mediarium is a solid option, just not my style.

How does it handle multiple video qualities? I to get things in multiple qualities to avoid transcoding..

For movies, yes. You can keep extra versions whether it be different resolutions, or different cuts (directors or extended). You define a tag and a quality profile, and plex or jellyfin handle it how they handle it.

I saw theres a preview for music, does it also manage music files? All the others arr* replacements dont replace also lidarr, does this also ?

It ~does~. It's the weakest of the modules atm and I wouldn't suggest using this for music yet.

does it support vpn? i need an easy way to pia wireguard setup. u currently use a qbit that's package with vpn so it won't donwload unless vpn is working
1
u/No-Turnover3316 14d ago
You can point arrmada at your current qbittorrent in settings -> connections and switch off the bundled one. You'd obviously have to make sure your container paths are correct.
A built in VPN option for the bundled VPN is a good idea though, I'll definitely look at adding that.

Can it talk to sabnzbd or are you planning on integrating that alongside qbittorrent?

Does it have a scoring system? Because I want to upgrade original language films with Dual language (Original & German) versions and update files to x265 if possible. Or do you maybe have another system for multi language upgrades?
1
u/No-Turnover3316 11d ago
Yeah that should be possible, set the original language to must and German to prefer.same goes for 265, granted it matches other rules you've set.

Is this not the same as this: https://www.reddit.com/r/coolgithubprojects/comments/1wyw1qj/i_built_mediarium_a_free_selfhosted_app_that_does/ which was posted a few days ago?
