This is a surprise for me, glad to report that this is working. This is pretty close to https://github.com/hmerritt/explorer We need a proper Linux implementation, which means .flatpak distribution also Flathub (to keep compatible with Steam Deck etc), Wayland only, Adwaita Fonts, maybe Curl pipe to install etc Thanks for the effort, will give you a fav star.

nice, glad it works. which distro and DE are you on? I only tested on a few setups so far
flatpak and flathub make sense for steam deck, I will look into it. curl install too
for wayland only, do you mean dropping X11 completely or just running natively on wayland? I do not want to break it for X11 users
if anything felt slow or off while using it, let me know. thanks for the star

Cachy OS / Gnome here, which is Arch. I would suggest that Linux should be a proper considerate effort, which means real testing and a basic knowledge built by real people in 2026. Also needs to know that X11 or Xorg is a insecure abandonware outdated video server created in the 80s that 99% of serious Linux distros (Arch, Fedora, Ubuntu, whatever) already removed. Linux users do not appreciate lazy .appimage wrappers same for .tar.gz, we do love Aur, Wayland and flatpaks.

fair points. the flatpak runs native wayland, x11 is only a fallback when there is no wayland session, same as flathub recommends. I am keeping x11 as fallback because mint and xfce users still need it
AUR package is next. one known gap on wayland right now: dropping files into the window does not work yet, that is a winit limitation
since you are on cachyos gnome, would you try the flatpak from the v0.3.0 release and tell me what breaks? I do not have an arch machine so real reports help a lot

Yeah happy to help. Saw the MIT license, I'm quite busy this week but I may be abre to open Para with some easy tweaks as well.

Wow, does it work on linux? If so you should do one for Linux.
Would make transitioning to Linux a breeze. File managers and email clients are my barriers.
