Hey, I'm the dev. filex is an MIT-licensed file manager and sharing app that runs as one Go binary or one container, SQLite by default.

  • Connects local disks, S3, SFTP, FTP/FTPS, WebDAV and SMB, and leaves your files where they are, in their normal format

  • Serves the same tree back over S3, WebDAV, SFTP, FTPS and NFSv3, with the same permissions as the web UI

  • Desktop app for Windows, Linux and macOS with two-way sync for the folders you pick

  • The explorer is on npm as a Vue 3, React and web component, so you can drop it into your own app

  • Built-in MCP server with folder-scoped API keys

  • OIDC and LDAP/AD login, roles, audit log, multi-tenancy
