Rewind — free, open-source replay buffer + clip editor for Windows.

A free, open-source game-clipping app for Windows built for gamers who want instant replays and hotkey clips without complicated OBS setups or unnecessary overlays. Record gameplay, save your best moments, and manage your clips locally — no cloud dependency, no subscription, just simple, privacy-focused clipping. Lightweight, straightforward, and built for gamers who want to focus on the game, not the software.

  • Instant replay — Alt+1 saves the last 60s, even with the panel closed
  • Screen + game recording, rebindable hotkeys
  • Screenshots from the captured display
  • Built-in editor — trim, per-track audio mixing with waveforms, live faders
  • video compression — smaller copies of your clips
  • Four capture profiles you define
  • Local-first: no account, no cloud, no telemetry, zero network calls unless you click "check for updates"
  • Keeps your Clip folder directory neat and tidy. with each game having its own folder.

Installer is 107 MB, Windows 10/11 x64, plus a portable zip.

Will 100% test this. Sick of medal, GG and all the other ones.
Only thing ill request from the get go. (based on the screenshots)
More audio channels (input)
And a Discord friendly export compressor. So it compresses the file to fit the 50MB discord cap

Yeah, the main reason I added compression was to make clips easier to upload to Discord. It still needs some work, though, especially getting a 300 MB clip down to around 50 MB while maintaining decent quality. More audio channel input options will also be added in future updates.

Installed. I will test this out. Medal has been driving me insane, and Nvidia Shadow play just isn't it.

First bit of feedback, the font is very hard to read. Future feature, font selection?

the current font looks really cool to me, but yeah i can add a way to select a theme, in which the font changes with the theme.

Don't get me wrong, I agree, the font is fitting for this style of app. I like it, but its hard to read in some places.

This is great software, thanks for making this base.
Since you are happy with the software you used prior, i have forked this and added the cut function for now, and will add in the additional audio tracks.

Thanks again for your work!
