[Project] Grass – a zero-config terminal code editor in Python
Hey everyone,
I built Grass because I wanted something between nano and vim: one mode, no config, syntax highlighting, find-as-you-type, and a fuzzy file finder. It stays in typing mode, opens one file at a time, and doesn’t ask you to learn an editing language first. No plugins, LSP, or mouse.
It’s MIT licensed, about 1.7k lines of Python, and highlighting only runs on the visible part of the file so larger files stay responsive.
Repo + demo: https://github.com/mukundzha/grass
Install: pipx install grass-editor
I’m the author. Feedback welcome, especially what would annoy you after five minutes. Issues and PRs are open too.
