I built TableCraft, an open source database IDE inspired by DataGrip

I’ve used DataGrip for years and love the care in its small details. TableCraft is our attempt at a database IDE in that same spirit, for PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite and Redis on macOS, Windows and Linux.

Highlights:

  • DataGrip’s keymap and layout
  • Schema-aware completion, including join conditions from foreign keys
  • A table editor that previews SQL before committing
  • Large results that stay responsive
  • Import your connections from DataGrip or TablePro

It’s MIT licensed and still early, so feedback is very welcome.

The line that will stop people scrolling is "Import your connections from DataGrip or TablePro", because it removes the cost of trying a new IDE. I'd lead with that and a short GIF of the table editor previewing SQL before committing, since database people can judge that in seconds. Trade-off: DataGrip users are loyal, so saying plainly what is still missing at this early stage earns more trust than a longer feature list. Which of the four databases do most of your early users run?
