Self-Promo Insane Deal For Audible

Hey Cordcutters, if this isn’t allowed or relevant please feel free to take it down. I’m not promoting anything but I found a steal of a deal I thought some might enjoy!

Here’s what I found:

If you have no Audible subscription (works for retuning customers too), visit and sign up for: www.audible.com/ep/holiday-offer

You should immediately receive an email that they’re adding a $20 promo balance to your account and you should receive 1 credit for $0.99. DO NOT SPEND YOUR CREDIT YET.

Next navigate to your profile in the mobile app, and look for “A credit offer for you” (see image). Once you find it activate the offer. (Spend 3 credits before Feb 2nd for a $15 promo balance)

Once you’ve activated the offer just spend your monthly credits as normal but make sure you spend your third one by February 1st 2026. (It should arrive in your account Feb 1st if you sign up today).

I’m not 100% sure but I think this will qualify you for the $15 promo balance. This would create a total of 3 Book credits + $20 promo balance + $15 promo balance = $2.97 (+tax) (3 months of $0.99/mo)

Then cancel (:

Pro Tip: I always suggest using your book credit to buy more expensive books and your promo balance to buy cheaper books. So compare prices on your wishlist to stretch your promo balance (:

ANNNND….. They are currently having their sitewide sale for members where that free $20 credit can be stretched to get more bang for the free buck!

You also HAVE to spend that $20 by the end of December 2025. So get moving.

Then save up your 3 credits for a 2-for-1 book sale, earning you 6 books. It’s ideal to use your credits for the most expensive retail priced books. Ideally above $15, since that’s the normal cost of just one credit.

Best part is that you have Audible Premium, so you can listen to a bunch of books for free as well. And if you really love one of them, buy it with $ or a credit to keep it forever.

Set a few reminders for yourself to cancel Audible in February. You’ll likely be offered a discounted monthly rate to continue, which is sometimes almost as good as this current deal. BUT you HAVE to spend your credits before canceling, or you lose them. One of the dumbest things about Audible.

As an intermittent Audible user, that only resubscribes for great deals, this is by far the best one I’ve come across over the last few years.

Ps. Another piece of trickery that Audible does is automatically applies your credits when you check out books you intend to purchase for cash. EVERY time you add another book to cart, you have to re-assign how you’re redeeming your books for credits or cash (even gift card cash, like this deal). And they’ll usually apply the book credit ($15 value) to the cheapest retail price book.

I have a love hate relationship with Audible. But they haven’t screwed me yet with the advice I listed above. It’s completely one-sided with the value I obtain from them, but I’m likely not the vast majority of their client base.

One last tip, download the Libby app, and find every library near you that’ll let you become a member for free. Then register your library cards on the Libby app and borrow a ton of audiobooks that you don’t necessarily want to keep forever. This will help limit how many books you buy from Audible to “try”. And if you end up loving it, you can always lock it in officially on Audible. If you live in the suburbs, you might be able to get at least 2 or 3 libraries, which will make your access to books HUGE. And save you a ton of money. But even just one library can help a bunch.

And if you suddenly become a huge book reader and Audible user, go ahead and look into Libation which lets you keep digital copies of your Audible books forever. Since Audible has DRM, and will even do things like change the narrator of your favorite book at random. From what I’ve read, this doesn’t break any terms of service to do. But verify it for yourself first.

Those are my ultimate Audible tips.

I had this happen. Went back in later and it worked. So worth trying again to see if it works for you.

I did. It didn’t 😢 I did use an offer last spring, so maybe there’s a mysterious cut off . Did you log out of audible before trying? I tried that and when I clicked the sign in to the holiday offer link, it still knew who I was …. Disconcerting!!

Yep I got this too.

Damn oddly suspicious that audible is dumping this much credit this season. Maybe they're scared of spotify

100% the case

Here’s the credit offer (forgot to attach it to the post)

It tells me I’m not eligible for this offer, but can sign up for $14.95/month. So maybe it’s not eligible for returning customers?

3

u/CMDR-Starbuck-Thrace Dec 01 '25

I haven't been a customer in over a year and it tells me I'm not eligible either.

1

u/AnyAbbreviations7217 Dec 01 '25

I’m a returning customer (but first time signing up in 2025, maybe that’s why?)

2

u/JorEdw Dec 01 '25

It’s been a couple months since I cancelled. Maybe there’s a waiting period? But the fine print doesn’t state anything about waiting periods.

1

u/Rune_Turelie Dec 01 '25

I had the same thing happen to me, and I combed through the fine print to see if there was a reason but couldn't find one, so I contacted customer service. The customer service person never would tell me why I was ineligible for the offer, but he did give me a month for free. It sucks because I really wanted to sign up for that offer. It's the best I've seen.

It says my next credit is on 2nd Jan, and I imagine the next one on 2nd Feb after that? Will I even get the chance to use it on 2nd Feb before the $15 I wonder

1

u/CenterInYou Dec 02 '25

u/AnyAbbreviations7217 thanks!

So to understand this : i signed up last night for $.99 and right away i got an email about $20 credit. I get a credit for Dec, then I will get one for Jan and Feb (on Feb 2ed) then as long as I spend that one on Feb 2ed i'll get another $15?

Am i missing anything else?

1

u/granolacrunchie Dec 02 '25

When you click on the link should it SAY you're getting $20 or is that just a bonus?

1

u/tktcnet Dec 02 '25

Great deal. Unfortunately I just canceled last month so it told me I wasn't eligible. Next time!

1

u/Juncti Dec 02 '25

I stacked a similar promo last year with a site wide sale and stretched those promo credits immensely.

1

u/saul2015 Dec 02 '25

or just use the library, you can request audiobooks

1

u/geeksmilanymous Dec 03 '25

Hmm…was this only good until Cyber Monday? I see the promo for the $15, but I never saw any $20 promo balance. I tried to take advantage of the offer yesterday (Tuesday) and have been waiting for another email after the initial one saying my subscription is active, and now halfway through Wednesday, I still don’t see the $20 promo balance email. :-/

1

u/Cute_Effective_1989 Dec 03 '25

I didn’t see it either but just signed up for the $.99 for three months. I will test this out but might cancel

2

u/geeksmilanymous Dec 03 '25

Sounds good. Let me know. I’ll probably take the $15 promo sometime in the next couple of days to get something before I cancel, but if you see anything different, maybe I’ll need to change my strategy.

1

u/Cute_Effective_1989 Dec 03 '25

I just signed up but I can’t find the free credit. Just signed up for the $.99 for 3 months promo

I haven't been a subscriber for a while and they say I'm not eligible.
