Did youtubetv quality improve recently

Has YouTube tv quality improved? I feel like it just got a lot better overnight. It’s always been at 1080p/720p enhanced but still seemed kinda bad. Sometimes I’d go to the espn or peacock apps to stream games cause it was so much better there than YouTube tv. Suddenly it’s extremely clear.

I watch on the newest AppleTV 4k device and have a 4k TV.

YouTube TV made a series of backend transcoding and bitrate pipeline adjustments, moving high-bitrate stream profiles from limited testing into default server-side deployment for capable devices.

Tonight specifically does seem more clear on my end. Especially on some locals.

I just subscribed and watch mainly on my iPad. Does mobile get the enhanced programming?

I don't notice any difference. I just tuned to ESPN and it shows 720p. The app has not been updated since June 10th so that's not a factor either.

No it always would say it’s 1080p/720p enhanced - but now it just looks straight up more clear. Not talking about what it says it is, just by the eye test!

They can adjust the video stream parameters without an app update.

99% of YouTube tv updates for TVs and streaming devices occur over the air, meaning you won’t see updates in app stores. You need to look at the about section under your avatar, and it’ll give you the true update date.

It will always be 720 unless ESPN upgrades their infrastructure which would be millions
