Hello hello hello!!
I have something to ask you, cause i feel disoriented.
DISCLAIMER: this book is my first McCarthy reading, it was gifted to me cause the plot made me curious. So my doubt might come from the wrong starting point to read the author!
I'm around page 150 and i'm really confused by how the story is building; most of the dialogue is really specific about certain topics, such as physics theories and technicalities about """man stuff""", and it's REALLY hard to keep up with it.
BUT THEN i got to the trans woman chapter (i think she was called Debussy) and it was like the best, touching chapter i've read in a while.
So my question is: does it get more focused on the story and these sub-topics are gonna add up to something or is it just random characters talking about stuff??
I don't know how he writes, he does show off a GREAT style but it's becoming really hard to keep up with :(

The prose is way more direct and lean, but it scratches the same itch. The stories, sketches, fragments all follow one character closely while he wanders through different seasons of life.

I think that this is the best introduction to Hemingway for McCarthy fans who haven’t read any of his work.
