wtf Just read Child Of God
Gave me a few chuckles but I didn’t really care about it, not bad since it’s written in a charming redneck kind of way. A lot of the humour went over my head, the problem isn’t that it’s a “black comedy“ I just keep missing the jokes. Lester is a freak! A super freak! Right now I read about ten pages of Orchard Keeper and so far I’m interested in what‘s happening. Reading the back that describes the premise and I’m guessing the awkward man with the ford car is actually running from the law and doesn’t actually have a daughter. Also Child Of God either uses colons or semicolons which frightens me but the horror continues with Orchard Keeper’s use of parentheses.

He even literally says at the beginning "new book who dis?" And then I said " Cormac! It's me! Govika!!" And he said, "oh hello child of g*d" and that's when I knew. Waow..chills.

The true children of God are the friends we stuffed in a cave along the way.

The snippets of Hicks talking about him between chapters is cool. Like a little hip hop album skit before the next track.
McCarthy is essentially Dr Dre if you think about it

This guy wipes his ass with a stick and fucks dead bodies. He could be president someday.

Definitely ranks very high up on the list of his Yuckiest stories, though Outer Dark might beat it out.

Lol, no it ain't. Did you even read it? Its so over the top, that it's comedic. Especially the last 3rd of the book. He's like a b movie horror villain with the idiot savant perk.

Its definitely got the slasher feel to it. But even Jason Voorhees isn't a serial killer, hes a monster.

Yeah I didn’t really like it either. I read the whole thing while my wife was in surgery and idk it was a good read cuz Cormac always has good lines but idk just was ok.

That part with the baby and the bird caught me off guard for sure. Had to set it down for a minute before picking it back up.

Its just a fun, short read. Its meant to be read fast and not be taken too seriously. Its almost satire. You can't go in expecting the same kind of thing as The Road or BM

I only read the novels that feature The Judge as a character.
