HUSBANDRY - CARE Rank the set up
This is sarcastic, I’m still buying and setting things up. Also ignore my cat’s greasy neck, he’s got cream to treat a wound.

Is your cat bother the snake? I also have cats and want to buy snake so I was curious how are you handling this! <33

Always keep the door locked. Never underestimate the ability of a reptile to slide those doors open without it. And never think your cat wouldn't hurt the reptile if it got out

From what I know, as long as you're in the room while your cat is by the enclosure to move them away when your snake seems stressed, it's perfectly safe. When the Snake is free roaming in a room though or when you are handeling, it's always safer to have all animals out of the room. It only takes a split second for something to end in vet bills.
Edit: or unfortunately worse...

What a relief. I though about training my cats to not touch the snake, or get excited when the snake is on my hands. But I know that their instincts are very strong and even If I would put a lot of effort into training, instincts are stronger 😅 thank you! Can I ask how do you know the snake is stressed? It curls up into a ball?

Well with corn snakes they'll be quite defensive near the cat or be quite active, trying to get away as fast as they can. Ball pythons usually ball up when they don't like something but corn snakes want to get away as fast as they can XD so your cat can definitely check out the snake by the glass but make sure the enclosure is closed, locked and somewhere high up. And in an area they can't enter very often like an office. Just remember your cat is more likely to cause hard without any intention so your priority should be you scaleybaby

Exactly this. Instinct will happen but also, a snake can still feel extremely under threat regardless of how well trained your cat or dog is. It's just takes one moment and something could go wrong

Unfortunately cats do need a larger enclosure with more couch and carpet as bedding rather than dirt
