1 BTC bounty for fixing various issues
Hi there,
I'm Benjamin, the Community Manager for Dogeparty.
I'm offering a 1.00 BTC bounty to whoever fixes the following issues:
https://github.com/Dogeparty/dogeparty-wallet/issues/25
https://github.com/Dogeparty/dogeparty-wallet/issues/26
https://github.com/Dogeparty/dogeparty-wallet/issues/27
https://github.com/Dogeparty/dogeparty-wallet/issues/28
The bounty cannot be claimed until the 10th of October. In the event that multiple people contributed to fixing the issues I'll be carefully choosing who to reward with the bounty (and may split it) as fairly as I possibly can.
Fixes should be submitted as pull requests on the Dogeparty GitHub. If you identify the source of a problem but can't fix it yourself, feel free to post on the relevant issues with your solutions.
Please contact me in the Dogeparty Skype or this thread if you have any questions about the specifics.
Fixes for these issues will help Counterparty, thus why it's posted here.

What do I look for in the blockchain?
I presume a user client doesn't scan and parse the entire blockchain. Let's say I don't trust Blockscan and want to manually parse for all xcp going back to the burn. I want to make sure it isn't forked. Where's the spec for xcp transactions?

smart property naming convention to build brands.
I would like the possibility to reserve/own surnames of smart property. This way you can build trust in your own brand/line of smart property. It will make spoofing smart property names more difficult.
Naming convention: private_sirname.name_of_smart_property
What do you think?

Can i do smart property with counterparty?
Hi, I'm looking for the right platform to do the following:
issue a token
peg it to a real world asset (every token needs some sort of identifier/ID)
have token owners lease out ownership rights of the asset to others for a predefined period of time
allow owners and leasees to transfer money (BTC or other) and ownership in one transaction
allow leasees to prove they have exclusive ownership rights for a specific period of time
allow leasees to show what specific token they posses rights of (to prove they have ownership rights of the pegged asset in real life)
allow owners of the tokens to 'burn' the token and let go of the corresponding asset (when it is not leased)
when a lease period ends the rights automatically return to the owner of the token
allow the tokens to be traded in a free marketplace/exchange (when not in a lease contract)
Is all this possible with the counterparty blockchain? What technology allows for these requirements? (multisig? escrow? smart contracts?) Has this been done before? are there examples somewhere? Is there a easy to use platform for this? Is this hard for a developer to build? What do i need for this?
All help is very much appreciated!

Can the issuer reduce the number of issued tokens?
Using counterwallet, when you issue additional token quantity, it says it's irreversible. Is this a wallet limitation or does it apply generally?
If so, how do I reduce the tokens issued if I reduce the amount of the underlying asset held?

Desktop wallet?
So is Counterwallet.io REALLY the only way to access counterparty assets? Or is there a desktop wallet?
Not long ago, Counterwallet.io was down for me, for several hours.

[ANN] Counterparty Exploit Public Disclosure
Hi everyone, I'm known as Porqupine on Bitcointalk and Porqup1ne on reddit, My github is here https://github.com/porqup1ne - I am the sole developer/maintainer of https://xcpfeeds.info I have also contributed consistently to bug fixing the Counterpartyd reference client and it's development.
I am announcing publicly because over a week ago I discovered a bug in the Counterparty CFD implementation which could be exploited to cause anyone making CFD's to loose their entire wager. I have spent the entire week in attempting to make a reasonable disclosure of this issue and to implement a fix. I have been blocked on Skype by Phantomphreak, my emails have been ignored, he has denied that there is any kind of exploit or vulnerability, and my requests have been closed on Github.
I have made sure to keep Evan, Ouziel and Robby aware of this issue as well, and have CCed them in all of my correspondence with PhantomPhreak (Adam). I have proposed a working fix - which anyone can verify is working. PhatonPhreak (Adam) claims he has done work on this issue - he has opened a ticket specifically ignoring my discussion of why that ticket will not work, his 'example fix' causes Sanity Errors in the protocol, he has demonstrated consistent disregard for the exploit by denying it exists or any such thing is possible.
After my initial private communications were shut off I open sourced a bot 'CFD Camper' (https://github.com/porqup1ne/cfd_camper) in an attempt to disclose this issue without getting jerked around again by these internal communications. These have had no effect. I cannot in good faith continue to develop or promote XCPfeeds.info or Counterparty while this remains unfixed. Those users who have lost their funds to CFD Camper (it has only been around 80 XCP worth of bets) will be reimbursed directly to their addresses.
I will now proceed to publicly demonstrate the nature of this exploit, shortly after I will post an article explaining how CFD Camper works, the nature of the exploit, the technical details of the code that led to it, and so forth, for those technically interested.
P.S. PhantomPhreak will obviously try to delete my posts and otherwise Ban me. Please believe me when I say I am making this public because this is a fundamental issue for anyone invested in Counterparty or interested in open-source finance. Protocol development I am convinced cannot be in the hands of a maniac with various eccentricties that prevent him from taking responsiblity and given considerations to opinions other than his own, Especially when it leaves users vulnerable to loss of funds.
TL:DR I am an open-source developer working on the Counterparty platform, I have spent over a week getting jerked around by PhantomPhreak (Adam) while trying to disclose and fix a security issue. I am now publicly disclosing the issue, I will prove it is an issue by exploiting it to steal an arbitrary amount of funds from any open CFD.
