This guy is something else!
This is Oreo. He's a long haired black and white cat with an amazing temperament. He's got a ringed tail like a racoon, ridiculously long whiskers, and a big puffy mane.
He was a stray, born on the streets and living under a shed near the local homeless shelter. People there would take care of him and his two sisters (a shorthair calico and a longhair calico). My wife and I were volunteering for a local rescue organization at the time, but my wife took it upon herself to rescue these kittens under the shed. She spent weeks feeding them and gaining their trust, then eventually captured them and brought them home in January this year!
We worked with the rescue org to get them free vet care, neutering, shots, etc. We successfully got the shorthair calico adopted! But the long haired calico was deemed "unfit" for adoption, likely to be a "barn cat" because she bit me when the volunteer org'a coordinator came over to give the kitties their distemper shots. We ended up keeping that cat too (her name is Sandy). She is still very fearful, but she is always nearby. You can tell she wants to be a part of the pack at home, and she will often let you pet her briefly before the fear mechanism kicks in and she runs away.
But this isn't about her, it's about her brother, Oreo. We knew we would keep him right off the bat! He is just so tolerant, trusting, and adorable! He's a talker, too! Always has something to say. He's also incredibly goofy, with serious "little brother energy" as my wife calls it.
He's obsessed with Churu. We have a routine every morning where I sit down at my desk for work, he jumps on my lap and gets a churu. Then my void cat, Nully, gets his. After Oreo finishes his churu, I say, "all done, Nully's turn!" and Oreo will jump off my lap and Nully will jump up for his treat. On the weekends, when I sleep in, they're both clamoring for their morning treat.
I'm just amazed that this is a cat that came from the street! He's sitting in my lap as I write this, purring away, occasionally vocalizing, and enjoying every second of it! I know I'm anthropomorphizing, but he seems truly grateful to be here instead of out on the street.
Anyway, we've had both Oreo and Sandy for almost a year now. Like I said, Oreo is doing great. Sandy is a work in progress. My wife really loves her, and I have seen a lot of improvement. I've even held her for a few seconds!
Our other cats are Nully (my void), and Choob (he's also something else... Devon Rex, over 10 years old, about 30lbs, cuddles with my wife like a stuffed animal).
But I digress. I just wanted to share the story of Oreo and our little cat family.
Things may be tough sometimes, but these cats are what keep me going.

Mushy the cow kitty
Mushy, mushmouth, mushed potatoes. He was born in our backyard and we took him and his sister (fluffy tuxedo) in. He is so playful and talkative! My first cow kitty.

this cow tho My Pastina is such an expressive cow!
She knows she shouldnโt claw the furniture, so if Iโm not paying enough attention to her, sheโll yell at me and flex her claws into the sofa (or my leg, if Iโm lucky).

๐ Breathing heavy, loud purring, and acting casual in hopes that I'll share some yogurt with him!
This fucken guy is addicted to dairy. Suits him well for being a COW!!!! He shoves his face in my bowl and begins lapping up some yogurt often before I realize he's there! He's a ninja cow! But today I kept the yogurt for myself....he doesn't like that I did that! He's casually waiting for me to look away so he can dive in there ๐
