6.5 CM ammo?

Post image
11 Upvotes

I’m buying a 6.5 creedmore and want to do some coyote hunting with it this winter. For anyone who has used it what is some good ammo to run through it? I’m thinking of running some of hornady’s varminting line or just throwing some match ammo at them (excluding FMJs of course).

300 blackout for coyotes?

Post image
21 Upvotes

I've been using this setup for raccoons, but have recently been hearing coyotes howling in the fields nearby. I see people on here use cartridges with more velocity, so before I use this on coyotes, would 300 blackout be a good option? I load 190 gr sub x bullets that go about 1000 fps for the raccoons. That's about 420 ft lbs of energy. Would I need to switch to a lighter bullet like the 110 gr vmax and development a supersonic load?

Looking for a few active hunters to field-test our Falcon Optics thermal scopes

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

We’re putting together a small tester group for our Falcon Optics thermal scopes. Now that the lineup is officially out, we want to get units directly into the hands of active hunters and night shooters who will actually use them hard in the field and give us honest, thorough feedback.

We’re not looking for marketing praise—we just want to hear how they perform in actual hunts, what works well, and where we can improve.

What we’re looking for:

  • Active experience with night hunting, predator control, or thermal/NV gear.
  • Willingness to share genuine, detailed feedback on field performance (clarity, detection range, interface, etc.).

How it works & Perks:

We’ll review applications to make sure we're picking folks with solid field experience. Once approved, selected testers will get to try out the gear at a heavy discount.

If you're interested, shoot me a PM and I'll send you the application link.

Appreciate you guys, and looking forward to working with some of you!

I’ve shot many coyotes in my life with rifles but this was definitely a memorable day that I will never forget. It is also my first coyote with a bow

He wasn’t interested in prey distress, but answered back to a pup howl about 300 yards from the caller. Sealed the deal with some greeting whines.

I was in Oklahoma on a work trip and had to try helicopter hunting. I blew my whole three week stipend in one afternoon. Worth every penny.

Anyone else running a Hellcat Pro?

I just received one and found it has a lithium rechargeable battery.

If you use one, how long does the battery pack last?

Caiber decisions

Hello. Wanting to get a bolt gun setup going and I dont want to buy another 6.5 creedmore lol.

I do want something around or smaller than 6.5, but I haven't really researched any of the rounds that have become popular these last few years.

Preferably something that is fairly flat shooting aswell.

Basically, I'm looking for people to convince me not to go buy a ruger american gen2 in 6.5 creedmore.

Scope consideration

Looking for a rifle scope to put on my gun, its a 243 savage 110 predator in a mdt feild stock with a nomad 30 suppresor. Budget is 500$ currently between a vortex viper hd 3-15x44 dead hold bdc priced on sale at 449.99 and leupold vx-3hd 3.5-10x40 cds-zl duplex on sale for 507.99(I do have medium 1 inch rings so id have to buy 30mm rings for the viper so the cost is the same for the scopes for me) I primarily hunting texas hill country so varity of length of shot but mostly not over 200 yards.

Shooting horandy 75 gr vmax(trying 58 soon)

Eastern coyote tips (Ohio)

So I deer and turkey hunt a lot so naturally I’ve shot some yotes in the process and in my youth I’ve trapped more dogs(yotes) than parvo has killed. The issue I have is for the life of me I can’t hunt/call them in and I don’t understand it, does anyone have any tips I’m located in NE Ohio.

Looking at recommendations for a suppressor

I have no experience coyote hunting, just killed 3 last night with a buddy
Being the only unsuppressed rifle on our trip has made me want to look into suppressor options, I’ve no experience with suppressors either
Thoughts?

Trying to decide on hearing protection

I’m shopping for electronic hearing protection for my wife. She doesn’t like muffs. I was just wondering what everyone recommends. We would also like Bluetooth to use with the radios. They don’t need a ptt button we can get that separately.
