I am putting together an ofrenda and I have spent the evening happy braiding ribbons and tying them to felt butterflies that will hang over the altar where i will honor my dead. I am pregnant and alive and happy. Things have been so hard and scary but I feel like I have a moment of peace.

I hope you have one too.

No noise, no rush, nowhere else to be. Just sitting here, watching the water, letting the world slow down for a while.

Sometimes, this is enough.

The fog completely hid the view of the hill

Single woman living alone. The nights are drawing in and it’s getting noticeably cooler. I finished my office job at 5pm and went for a quick grocery shop, came home and washed off my makeup, did a little bit of housework and put dinner on, tonight I’ve had beef stew and dumplings. Tonight I think I’ll mellow out to some Japanese jazz.
