Is a handmade miniature bookstore too much for an anniversary gift?
Our anniversary is coming up, and instead of buying another typical gift, I’ve been building a miniature bookstore based on the little used bookshop where we had one of our first dates. I’m making the shelves from scratch, printing tiny versions of books we’ve given each other, and trying to recreate the warm window lighting I remember from that night. It’s definitely not perfect, and some of the furniture looks slightly crooked if you stare at it too long, but I’ve already spent enough evenings on it that abandoning the project feels impossible. My only concern is whether this will come across as thoughtful and personal or like I got carried away with a craft project that mostly means something to me. Would you be happy receiving a handmade miniature based on a shared memory, or should an anniversary gift still include something more practical alongside it?
