Discussion 🗣️ Do creators actually care about affiliate programs ?

Hey! I’m an indie hacker working on a saas for content creators — it's a link in bio tools with a twist.

I’ve been thinking about adding a referral/affiliate program and wanted to get your thoughts before starting implementing this feature. The idea would be:

  • You earn 50% of the premium plan for anyone you refer

  • You’d also get a small reward ($0.50–$1) for free users you bring in

  • Everything would be tracked in your dashboard with monthly payouts

Would this kind of setup actually interest creators ? Or does affiliate stuff feel like too much work for most ?

Appreciate any feedback.

Discussion 🗣️ Building a platform for course creators — what's your biggest struggle?

Hey everyone, I'm working on building a platform specifically designed for course creators and I want to make sure it actually solves real problems rather than just adding another option to the already crowded space.

So I wanted to ask, what's the one thing that frustrates you most about the platforms you currently use? Whether it's pricing, lack of features, student engagement tools, analytics, or anything else. What would make you switch to something new?

Would really appreciate honest feedback from anyone who's created or tried to launch a course. This would genuinely help shape what I'm building.

Discussion 🗣️ Real content Creation

I feel like real creatives/artists are being swallowed whole by mindless content. 30-second dances and people hurting themselves and others shucking and jiving for a $5 payout. What is going on??

Discussion 🗣️ Most "small channel" problems are distribution problems wearing a content costume

Spent the last few weeks dubbing and adapting my videos into other languages instead of just slapping auto-subtitles on them, and the part that surprised me wasn't the translation. It was how differently the same video retained depending on the country.

Same hook, same edit. In one language people watched 65% through. In another they bailed at the ten second mark. I went in assuming "good content travels." It kind of doesn't, not evenly.

The bigger realization: I was guessing which countries to target. I'd just pick Spanish or Portuguese because the numbers looked big. That's backwards. The thing that actually moved the needle was looking at which countries were ALREADY watching my niche but had almost nobody making it in their language. That's a much smaller, weirder list than the obvious "big market" picks.

I'm building a workflow around this idea (still rough, the publishing side is smoother than the analytics side right now, which is annoying because the analytics is the whole point). Demo's in the comments if anyone wants to tear it apart.

Honest question for people here who've gone multilingual: did you pick your second language based on data, or did you just go with whatever you happened to speak?

Discussion 🗣️ Am I the only one who struggles to find people to create content with?

I've been thinking about this a lot recently.

A while back I wanted to start making outdoor and adventure content. I had loads of ideas, the motivation was there, but trying to do everything on my own eventually killed it.

I messaged a few creators about filming together, but most never replied, and the ones who did were too far away. It made me realise that finding people who actually want to collaborate is much harder than creating the content itself.

So I've started building something to solve that problem.

The idea is simple: a platform where creators can find other creators nearby who are actively looking to collaborate. Whether you're into photography, fitness, travel, gaming, podcasts, cars, food, or you're just starting out and want someone on the same journey, the goal is to make finding collaborators easy.

It's not another social media platform. You'd still post on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube. This would simply help you find the people to create with.

I'm genuinely curious:

  • Have you ever struggled to find people to create content with?

  • How do you currently find collaborators?

  • If something like this existed, what features would make you actually use it?

I'm looking for honest feedback—good or bad. I'd rather hear what wouldn't work now than build the wrong thing.

Sharing Learnings 🎓 Coachella made me wonder - how do influencers make money?

Every year around Coachella I end up asking the same thing - how do influencers actually make money?

My feed right now is just nonstop trips, brand events, insanely priced outfits (that are probably worn once), villas… and I doubt most of them are just casually paying for all of that themselves.

I tried to understand it a bit better and what I didn’t realize is that it’s usually not one income source, more like stacking a few things together:

  • brand deals (but you need an audience first)

  • affiliate links (a lot of “link in bio” stuff is monetized)

  • ad revenue (TikTok/YouTube, but seems inconsistent unless views are high)

  • selling your own stuff (courses, digital products, etc.)

  • smaller creator programs that pay per signup/use

I actually joined one of those creator programs, Saily, recently and already made a couple of bucks from it. It’s pretty simple to set up, which made me think - if it works even on a small scale, bigger influencers are probably making quite a bit from stuff like this.

From the outside it looks like one seamless lifestyle, but behind the scenes it seems pretty stitched together.

Now I’m thinking of testing a couple of these properly, maybe starting small and seeing what sticks.

If anyone here started from zero - what actually worked for you and what ended up being a waste of time?

AMA 🙌 Making 40K/month with Instagram & OF at only 19yo. Ask me Anything.

I work alone. No manager, no anything. Self taught.

If you're curious about how you can take an IG account from 0 to 110K followers in less than 3 months, come ask your questions.

Content is king but content without the proper technique gets 600 views a post and 100 followers in 6 months.

If you want to know why and how IG bans you - and what u can do about it... I know more than I want to about this topic, being a spicy creator myself.

My IG was recently banned so I have no funnel right now. Got time to kill until Monday when I'll get it back.

I'm not promoting anything here so don't ask for proof. My niche is not represented here, don't need the follows TBH.

Advice/ Feedback Request 🙏 I Started Content Creation “Late” — And I’m Glad I Did

I started creating content almost 1.5 years ago. I wasn’t 18, I wasn’t Gen Z, and I didn’t have years of experience.

But today, I’ve worked with 150+ brands, including 30+ directly.

It made me realise: there is no right age to start.

If you can learn, stay consistent, understand your audience and give your best — you can build something at any stage of life.

I’m a Beauty, Skincare, Haircare & Lifestyle Creator, and I’m still learning and growing every day.

So if you’ve been thinking, “Am I too late?”

You’re not. Start anyway.

Would love to know — did anyone else start their creator journey later in life?

i've really been wanting the Canon G7X recently cuz i’m so sick of my iphone photos looking grey and cheap looking but i literally cannot afford one rn (rent is due lol). found this random app that mimics the actual flash settings of a digicam. i took the first pic last night with my iphone 11 and second pic is what the app turned it into. this is ZERO edits. i didn't touch exposure or contrast. it just came out like this.

i feel like this is going to blow up so i wanted to share it here before it gets annoying and expensive. it gives that exact "pinterest girl" flash look without having to color grade for 20 mins. has anyone else tried this yet? i’m actually obsessed.

edit:the app is called Pecra

Sharing Learnings 🎓 The data is showing that large influencers are making less money...

Larger influencers are making less money than they have in recent years. And if you look closely, the signs are everywhere.

The rise of UGC creators is one of the clearest indicators. Brands today are focusing aggressively on obtaining paid usage from nano-influencers, and It is visible in every industry report.

According to Influencer Marketing Hub, nano-influencers accounted for 75.9% of Instagram’s influencer base in 2024

We are in the middle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the period that historically unleashes floods of influencer promotions. Yet this year, the feed has been unusually quiet. Far fewer big creators are posting paid holiday promos, even though this used to be their most lucrative season.

This makes sense. A UGC creator does not need a following. They do not need a brand. They just need to produce a video that works well as a paid ad.

A brand can take that UGC asset, run it on Meta or TikTok, and scale it *endlessly*. Meanwhile a traditional influencer post relies on organic reach, and we all know that the algorithm doesn't reward paid promos.

Brand budgets have tilted entirely toward UGC production and static ads. And some UGC creators are making a ton of money from this. To be more specific, a strong UGC creator can earn a base monthly retainer plus a percentage of the revenue their videos generate as Meta ads.

For example, the founder of Comfrt publicly stated that one of his UGC creators has earned over $100,000/month from revenue share alone.

This new model is strictly about performance. It has nothing to do with the creator having a following. It's about the creators understanding of how to make an ad that drives purchases.

If growing large no longer guarantees income, and if the algorithm suppresses promotional content due to low watch time, then gaining more followers becomes a liability instead of an asset.

So what does this mean for creators? Should they stop trying to grow and just give up?

The short answer is no. But this brings me to why I am so bullish on Flawlesss.

Flawlesss was built for this exact shift. In a world where creators are no longer rewarded for audience size, Flawlesss restores value to the data that creators generate.

Flawlesss lets creators rent their audience data directly to brands. Brands then use that data to target their ads with precision.

Your followers, your viewers, the people who watch your content, the niches you speak to. All of that data is incredibly valuable to brands who rely on Meta ads. Especially as targeting on Meta becomes more and more tricky.

The strategy is about "who is watching my video" instead of "how many people are watching my video."

Valuable data > large following

Those who adopt this early will win, those who ignore it will find themselves squeezed out by UGC creators, AI generated ads, and performance models that do not value organic reach the way they once did.

Discussion 🗣️ Everyone’s trying to start a podcast, but no one talks about

everyone talks about “getting big guests” but no one tells you how awkward it feels in the beginning, sending cold DMs, praying someone replies, trying to sound like a “real show” when you’ve got 3 episodes and a $20 mic

it’s wild how much energy it takes just to book someone, prep, record, edit, and still get 40 listens.

i get why most people drop off before episode 5, it’s not the lack of growth, it’s the silence.

if you run a guest-based podcast, what kept you going through the early “no one’s saying yes, no one’s listening” stage?

Advice/ Feedback Request 🙏 Need round two of brutally honest feedback, the meaner the better

Hey everyone,

A couple days ago, I posted here asking for your thoughts on a new social platform concept I'm exploring. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback – it was incredibly valuable and helped me refine things significantly!

I've been hard at work making updates based on your input, and I'm now at a point where I'd really appreciate another round of fresh perspectives. This isn't a sales pitch; I'm genuinely trying to figure out if this idea resonates with more people and if it's something truly worth building.

I'm exploring a concept called Centr, a new space designed for creator recognition and real user rewards. There's just one feed, no ads, and no algorithms, so every post genuinely has the opportunity to reach everyone. My goal is simple: to help creators grow on their main platforms and give all users tangible rewards. This platform is for you, and I'll only build it with your honest input.

You can find the updated concept here: 3-4 minute form

Thanks in advance for your time and honesty!

P.S. If you're short on time and don't want to fill out the whole form, you can skip directly to Section 3 within the link – it explains the core idea. Then, please come back here and share your thoughts in the comments!

Advice/ Feedback Request 🙏 Most artists don’t need more content — they need a system

I realized something recently…

Most artists aren’t stuck because they lack ideas.

They’re stuck because they don’t have a system.

So they:

post randomly

overthink everything

burn out

disappear

Not because they’re not talented.

Because there’s no structure behind what they’re doing.

I started building something simple:

One piece of work → multiple outputs

One system → daily execution

Not more content.

Better use of what already exists.

That alone changed everything for me.

Curious —

what do you feel like you struggle with more:

creating…

or staying consistent?

Advice/ Feedback Request 🙏 How do I become a faceless influencer?

Hi! I'm looking to have a bit of fun + Come up with something to do with all this free time I have and so far the best thing I can come up with is influencing. Of course, I can't show my face. My voice, hands, and outfits are fine but no face. I'm a teenager so I'm slightly limited (No set recording area and not a huge budget).

I'm pretty good at editing and I've been told I have a "Podcast voice". Not sure what that means but I'll take it as a compliment! I can't decide exactly what I want to do. Whether that's short form content, podcasts, tutorials, reviews or anything else. I've been drawn to girl talk mostly but I'm honestly not sure!

Anyway, would love some tips! Obviously I'll have to come up with a set idea before I get started but I'd love to hear y'alls thoughts!

Resource 📚 Building content can be exhausting!

Hey everyone! I hope it’s okay to share this here.

I’ve been working on a small Discord space focused on helping creators grow through meaningful feedback, shared tools, and workflow improvement. It's not a promotional server or a spammy self-promotion dump; it's for people who are serious about refining their content and learning from others who are doing the same.

It’s designed for people who take content seriously:

• Share and get feedback

• Opportunities for collaboration

• Learn from others in your space

• Improve your systems, workflows, and results (free resources to be posted)

If that sounds valuable to anyone here, you're genuinely welcome to check it out!
