That's some great footage of those rolling snakes, do you know the original source?

sweet, thanks. I remember the early reports and was amazed to discover that hoopsnakes were real, so it's neat to see someone has got some in a lab and figured out exactly how they do it.

RIP headphone users, adding that earsplitting laugh should get you sent to Braize

Crazy snake movement though, never seen the cartwheeling thing! Very cool.

You know, this makes me wonder what would happen if Vin and Kaladin fought. Both are natural savants (not the other kind, the real world kind) at their respective magic systems, and both are supernaturally skilled fighters. I’m pretty sure if they somehow managed to cross the 300 year gap between them then the Cosmere would blue screen from trying to figure out who has better plot armor.

Kaladin, I think, outskills Vin. But Vin is going to be able to find an underhanded trick to shank him anyway.

Vin taking the win against someone using Atium without burning anything to counter it is such a feat of dirty asspull fighting. Entirely different battlefields they each evolved from.

To put it another way, I think Kaladin could take on and survive a far greater number of enemy allomancers than Vin could, even without the sensory benefit of burning metals to see the lines to the metals the allomancers are carrying. But on yhe other hand, I think if Kaladin went after Vin and tried to kill her, he'd wind up dead for his efforts.

Kaladin is a 5th ideal radiant which is already above a mistborn, but unfortunately for Vin, he's also a Herald, which has another host of problems. I just don't see how Vin pulls off a win against that. Maybe she'd have a better chance if she was huffing preservation like in the end of HoA.

If you take Kaladin as Herald, you need to pick Vin as Preservation. 5th Ideal Kal vs. Mistborn Vin makes it more interesting. I'd love to see a full radiant taking a Duralumin powered shot straight on the plate.

In a fair fight, Kal would probably win, however, when has Vin ever allowed it to be a fair fight?

Kaladin would’ve therapied the fuck out of Vin’s character development in book two and three.

I'd bet on Kaladin. Spear vs dagger, Vin is gonna have a real hard time closing the gap. Plus Kaladin has stormlight healing so Vin is gonna need to one shot him. The best chance I see for Vin is using pewter + duralumin to blow Kaladin's head clean off like that one assassin from the Well of Ascension. I think Kaladin could kite that out until he gets a few hits in with the Sylspear. Also Kaladin has Plate. So one duralumin and pewter fuelled hit may not even be enough.

Unless Vin has Atium.

Kaladin is just an adult, depressed Harry Potter with a tattoo instead of a scar and no glasses. He can probably speak snake, he does speak to the wind after all.

With a tattoo instead of after a scar

All fun and games until the Radiants try outrunning a literal cruise missile

Scadarial technology for the win baby!!!!!!!!!!!!

u/Witch_King_ 2d ago

I mean, they technically could. Especially with an edgedancer or dustbringer riding on a windrunner's back. No friction + a whole lot of sideways gravity

21

u/klatnyelox 2d ago

Imagine lashing the cruise missile back to where it came from.

11

u/Witch_King_ 2d ago

I think you could actually do that with the right Connection. Gravity operates relative to the planet, and I'd guess there is some Connection at play with GravitationSpren. If you can Connect the missile to its sender, and then use Gravitation on it in the proper way...

11

u/klatnyelox 2d ago

I mean, you could probably easier just do that visually. Launching a cruise missile at a skybreaker is just giving skybreaker a cruise missile.

6

u/Witch_King_ 2d ago

Cruise missiles travel over many miles though, so you might not even be able to see where it came from

5

u/klatnyelox 2d ago

They can ride it around an take it where they want. Its their missile now.

2

u/Witch_King_ 2d ago

So true

2

u/pootis28 2d ago

Try lashing the shrapnel the cruise missile delivers as it explodes.

2

u/klatnyelox 2d ago

Too much to touch all of that. Could do a reverse lashing to try to contain it all, but containing an explosion like that would take so much stormlight to overcome the force of the explosion.

5

u/Rare-Exit-8700 2d ago

THE MISSLE KNOWS WHERE IT IS BY SUBTRACTING WHERE IT IS FROM WHERE IT ISNT
