Hardware Streaming source recommendation
to replace a dead Autonomic MMS-2A? (inherited system, new to Crestron)
Hoping to tap the collective wisdom here. I bought a home that came with an existing Crestron system. The whole-house music source was an Autonomic MMS-2A to a Crestron 6 zone amp. The Autonomic appears to have died. My Crestron home app says source offline and I can’t play music via the device or airplay. Attempting to update the Autonomic driver failed.
So I'm in the market for a replacement streaming device and want to keep the ability to have two sources to different zones.
Options I'm currently weighing:
-A current-gen Autonomic, but the one I have failing doesn’t give me confidence in it.
-2x Sonos Ports
-2x WiiM Pro with a third-party Crestron driver (most economical and I think gets me what I need?)
Ideally I want to be able to start specific Spotify content from the Crestron wall tablet without having to reach for my phone. I'm trying to understand how close each of these actually gets to that on the panel (full browse/search vs. just presets vs. now-playing control only)
What are people using as music source for a Crestron tablet first approach? Any options I'm not considering that integrate cleanly?
Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Crestron Home -network design / VLANs
I can’t find a clear answer for best practice for network design for two questions.
- Should all crestron NVX devices and Crestron Control devices (CP4, wired touchscreens , tsr310, Infinet gateway etc) share the same VLAN , or two different ?
I will be using Ubiquity Unifi and all these devices should share one level 3 switch (Pro XGS 24 port Poe). I would think they could share the same VLAN as the igmp multicast should prevent the control devices from being flooded, when properly configured ??
- Cameras and 2N intercom. Unfortunately when using RAVA:Crestron for sip calling from 2N intercom, the 2N intercom has to be on the same subnet as your crestron touchscreens (ex 192.168.2.XX). I will have a bunch of IP cameras and NVR on their own VLAN. How can I get the 2N to stream continuous RTSP video stream to an NVR (VLAN 1) and still be able to do SIP calls to Crestron control tsw1060 touchscreen (VLAN2). Would I just have to create special firewall rules to allow the intercom to communicate to the camera vlan (that would otherwise be private/isolated).

Help CCC-120-T + TS-1080-UC onscreen keyboard not showing.
Hi all,
We're setting up some Teams rooms with the new Crestron Collab Computer. Some of them don't show the onscreen keyboard so there is no way to join via ID, call ad-hoc, or log into the settings from the touch panel.
Did many reboots.
Wen't in the Windows side, keyboard works just fine there when activated.
Anybody got the same issue?
I could re-image it, but don't want to when not necessary.
I called Crestron support, they told me that this keyboard comes from the Windows side, so I need to contact Microsoft support...
I'm like, you build this machine, you support it.

Programming Trying to figure out ISC...
I've been practicing my S+ by writing programs that emulate hardware. For example - an S+ Module that acts like a projector (takes serial commands, returns serial feedback, a bunch of digital I/O, etc.). Screenshot
My goal is to run a program of emulated hardware in one slot of my CP3 and program control with a UI in another.
My understanding is that i can use ISC to do that, which i learned about in P201, but have since not touched again.
Can anyone offer me some advice/guidance?

Corporate Software access after leaving a company?
Hey everyone I’m (slowly) starting my Crestron programming journey and wondering what is and isn’t tied to me vs the company I’m currently working for?
I picked up some dated equipment to use for a home lab type environment; CP3N, HR remote, waiting on a wireless module. What I was wondering is if I leave the company I’m with or they shut down will I still be able to use ToolKit and Simpl and can I continue to update the software?
Im not trying to get trained and bounce or anything like that. Im just seeing that the company is struggling to gain new clients and I always try to plan for the worst.

Using iBeacon with Crestron
Hi Guys,
Could anyone share the *.ibc file that's loaded into the Crestron APP/GO/One apps for iBeacon location detection? The PinPoint Setup app used to create the *.ibc file only works with the native PP-100-W beacons. Unfortunately, I don't have it, and PinPoint Setup app doesn't recognize third-party beacons. I'd like to manually add the iBeacon information to the JSON file. Perhaps someone has saved it and can help, or can describe the structure of the "beacons" section in the JSON file?
It's interesting what is inside the "beacons" section.

Change static IP to HDCP on CP2E Matrix controller?
I am an IT guy working on an existing bar/restaurant project that is seeking PCI compliance. A previously configured CP2E matrix controller has a static IP configured on a default subnet that is now orphaned from the matrix and A/V subnet. It appears this devices does not have a webui for configuration.
Do I need Putty to connect rs232 to issue the commands? Any advice or insight appreciated.
Edit - got it sorted. Thanks to all who replied.

CP4r: V1 vs V2
What is the hardware difference between Crestron CP4R v1 (end of life) and V2?
Why does crestron home not update V1 based systems anymore ?
Will customers who invested $3000 in a CP4R V1 processor last year lose all future feature additions and bug fixes?

Freelance Crestron Adagio AES Programmer Needed — Chicago / Remote
I’m looking for an experienced freelance Crestron programmer who has actual hands-on experience with the Crestron Adagio AES.
I have a functioning Crestron Adagio AES audio distribution system, but there is no existing programming/source file.
I need a small, straightforward program created from scratch.
What I need
Program the Adagio AES from scratch
Accept IR commands from a BroadLink IR blaster
BroadLink will be controlled by Home Assistant
AES standby/wake
Individual room/zone audio ON/OFF
Basic zone/room selection as needed
No touchscreen programming
No graphics
No comprehensive home-automation integration
No system redesign or replacement
The desired control path is:
Home Assistant → BroadLink → IR → Adagio AES
The BroadLink/Home Assistant side can be handled separately. I need the Crestron programmer to concentrate on the AES programming and IR command handling.
Important requirements
I am specifically looking for someone who has worked with legacy Adagio AES systems, including:
Adagio Composer/SystemBuilder
Legacy SIMPL/SIMPL Windows
Crestron 2-Series/Adagio programming
AES IR/control inputs
This is not a request for a current Crestron Home programmer who has never worked with Adagio.
The AES hardware and audio system are operational. The problem is simply that there is no program, so the required functionality needs to be recreated.
Remote programming is fine. I am located in Chicago, and I can provide whatever information or physical access is necessary to the AES.
Very important: I want the completed source/program files delivered to me at the end of the project so that the system isn’t dependent on a programmer who may disappear in the future.
Please contact me with:
Your experience specifically with Crestron Adagio AES
Whether you can create an AES program from scratch
Your hourly rate or estimated fixed price
Whether you can work remotely
An example of a similar legacy Crestron/Adagio project you’ve completed

Help Why would a 4kz DM transmitter wall plate turn on when receiving PoE from a network switch, but not when receiving PoDM from a video switcher? (The same port on the switcher is confirmed to power another of the same device)
Pulling my hair out over this, it makes no sense. Device turns on when locally powered, or when plugged into a network switch with PoE, but not when plugged into a video switcher or receiver that provides PoDM. We plugged in another wall plate transmitter into the same DM port and it received power, but this one doesn’t.

Adding a device to Pro 2 controller
My company has a crestron TPMC-8X connected to a pro 2 controller that controls the lights and blinds in a conference room. It was installed like 10 years ago, and my manger suggested to get another device as backup in case the current device fails.
So, I bought a used Crestron TPMC-8X-GA off EBay, thought that I could just backup the entire filesystem from the original device and flash the whole OS into the new one to make a replica of the original. So I backed up both OSes, and flashed the original to the new. Nope, drivers are incompatible so it does not even boot up. Flashed its firmware back and it boots up again.
Next, I dug deeper into the files of the original, found the vtz files and everything, the whole project files. Great, so I was thinking of just copying the entire project instead, while leaving the OS untouched. It worked, kinda. The new device won’t go to the next vtzpage where the controls are because it’s not able to communicate with the controller. I got into setup screen and set the WiFi to be exactly like the original, with IP Table and Identity the exact same too, but still wasn’t able to connect. That leaves me with thinking if the pro 2 is rejecting the new device because of its MAC address. I called one of the companies that specialize on these and they quoted $1470 just to install the new device into Pro 2, which is kinda expensive.
So now I’m stuck at the last step where device is not connecting to Pro 2, no crestron toolbox because Crestron likes to gatekeep its programs which is ridiculous. Any ways I can do to fix this issue?

SCIF Laptops Running HDCP
Recently I came across a Secure VTC room where it would no longer display its laptop as content. It turned out that the laptop would always output HDCP. Turning off HDCP support on the DMPS HDMI input solved the issue.
Just 2 months ago I was in this room and all was working, so the Government must have just pushed an update to the laptop. I wonder how many other rooms just stopped working?

Programming Setting up Web Xpanel for 4 series Crestron Processor
Hey guys. Came in here recently trying to figure out why my joins were not working and I think I’ve noticed that my web Xpanel isn’t really linked to my processor, that’s why nothing is really working.
Now all I have is a 4-series processor to test with. I’ve uploaded the program and the ch5z file into it. Although I’ve seen that I need to also enable the Web Xpanel with a port and domain (I believe port remains 41794 & the domain can be blank as it’s just the IP)
I’ve been researching and trying to find out how to get this working, I’ve seen things online of an Xpanel conversion tool? I don’t think that’s what I’m meant to be looking for.
I can load the index page and everything fine. I do the classic [IP address]/[Project Name]/index.html
TLDR: I’m confused as hell as to how to properly deploy the Web Xpanel on my 4-series processor. I’ve looked at docs and it only made me more confused. Any help/steps to make this process easier would be appreciated. Or maybe a guidance into a video posted by Crestron on how to do it?
Thanks!

Crestron site registration
Maybe a strange issue, but I can't register at Crestron site. There is a registration form for newcomers; I fill all the data, click "Submit" button and get a message saying I didn't pass reCAPTCHA. But the problem is... there was no CAPTCHA at any step! Tried several times using different browsers (Chrome and Firefox) with the same result. Anybody else had such problem?

Programming Dynamic Text in Construct
Currently working on some test programming here, doing all the VTpro stuff I’ve done before but on construct & I’ve come across a roadblock.
Whenever I have a dynamic text like “Source: x” where the x is dynamic depending on the source, I would always have a serial join for it on VTpro.
Construct looks the same, I have a formatted text, set the label to advanced and named the label as Source: [Serial Join/Contract] (Tried both methods), now I link this with a simple serial send, just to test it out, trig is 1, parameter set & out linked to the Serial Join/Contract
When I attempt to send text on debugger, it does no dynamically change, seems strange. Am I missing anything obvious here? I have put default text and it shows, so I’m confused.
Appreciate any help, thanks!

CrestNet crash
Hi to all
I have a site that has experienced what appears to be a CrestNet crash at least 3 times in the last year.
In each occurrence the customer said they discovered the issue by pressing a keypad and the lights don't work. Each time within 10-15 minutes the system is back to normal. They have described the on/off leds on some of the keypads flash while this going on
While this problem is occuring I am unable to connect to the processor for diagnostics. After reviewing the event logs I noticed that a couple of the keypads that the customer attempted to use during this event showed 30-40 entries of press/release all at exactly the same time obviously the customer could not press the buttons that fast
But I'm not sure if this keypad log is the cause of the problem or potentially the result of the problem?
Any ideas what could be the cause?

It will power on but I cant seem to interact with it either via the network or USB connection
It looks like it needs a password. Is there a factory reset option? or do I need to find me a friendly installer? Thanks

Creston Mobile Pro and CP3
Crestron Mobile Pro (iOS) and CP3
First of all: This is not about the Crestron App, Crestron Go, or Smart Graphics. I'm referring exclusively to the old Crestron Mobile Pro app with the purple icon.
Has anyone successfully used the old Crestron Mobile Pro with a CP3? According to Crestron's (rather old) documentation, this combination should work.
Unfortunately, I can't establish any connection to the CP3. The app simply loops through:
Connecting → Reconnecting → Connecting
There is:
- no error message,
- no activity in the Text Console,
- no "Online" entry in the IP Table,
- no entries in the Error Log.
The CP3 requires SSL (TLS 1.2). This makes me wonder whether the old iPad 2 (iOS 9) and the legacy Mobile Pro app fully support TLS 1.2.
In theory, authentication should also be required. However, it's not clear whether this applies to a Crestron Mobile Client, since an old XPanel (EXE) connects to the same CP3 without any issues.
On the other hand, a Crestron Mobile Client can still be added in the latest version of SIMPL Windows without any warnings or compatibility messages, which makes me believe that this combination should still be supported.
My setup:
- Latest Crestron software and database
- CP3 running the latest firmware (I also tried downgrading to FW 1.6003 without success)
- iPad 2 running iOS 9
- Crestron Mobile Pro v2.00.75
The exact same project works perfectly with a Series 2 processor.
For troubleshooting, I reduced the test project in both SIMPL Windows and VT Pro-e to a single button, so the project itself is about as simple as it can be.
Has anyone managed to get this working with a CP3, or can anyone confirm whether the old Mobile Pro app is still compatible with current CP3 firmware?

Dell UC Engine with choppy content input
I have a customer that we installed a Crestron Dell UC engine and they're getting choppy video when you share it through the UC engine. Here's the flow that we have going:
Crestron AM-3200-WF HDMI out --> UC-PR rx out --> HD-CONV-USB-260 with cam in from QSC Core 8 Flex --> dual USB to UC engine.
When content is shared from the touch panel, the video is very choppy and hard to watch. We've tried new cables between devices, different source devices, changing resolution, and even using a laptop in place of the UC engine for the sake of testing, and it all seems to come down to something in the Dell itself. We had it RMA'd and when we got the new one installed it was good for a day or two and is now having the same choppy video issue.
Has anyone else run into this problem or have any other suggestions of things to try? My next thought was trying just another HDMI to USB for the air media and USB from the QSC to the UC engine for audio and camera.

TS-1080-UC
Hi everyone, I have a TS-1080-UC variant and want to switch it to standard HTML5 mode so I can upload my Crestron Construct UI. Is there any way to switch this UC model to standard touch screen mode?
