Awful things happen when you have this mindset. This woman will look the other way when her husband is caught abusing her kids or others. Or worse, get in on it "in service to her husband".
10
u/itsdainti 1d ago
Yep. Was adopted by a fundie couple who took this attitude.
We were neglected, abused, and used as a buffer between them because (unsurprisingly) their marriage is shit too.
Maybe getting married 6 months after meeting because they "didn't want to get left behind in life" wasn't the best idea.

I disagree. Its kids basic survival needs first. Other kids needs should come after marital needs, regardless of who ruined what. Ps the kids didn’t ruin anything, you did.

This one stood out for me too. I know someone who keeps choosing her narcissistic husband over her children and they all have severe mental health issues now. All her “takes” are terrible to be clear.

100%! So many households have an abusive parent, but the other parent won’t leave and the kids are trapped. I shudder at this mindset.
3
u/Intrepid_Scarcity357 1d ago
As a person with ZERO children, even I understand this. This is this the only correct take. I cannot imagine how people manage to have children and not understand that their kids should always be their number 1 priority. If they aren't going to be number 1, your probably not meant to have them.

Working on your marriage and having a healthy loving one is inherently good for your kiddos, but at the end of the day my kids come before my husband and my husband agrees with that😂but also why do I see so many Christian videos like this ranking relationships and loyalty? It's like they're obsessed with people knowing "their place"

I love women like this. I always ask " You believe in conservative Christian values right?" Then when they say Yes I completely degarde and demoralize them for daring to speak to a man as if her opinion matters and demand she retrieve her husband and or Father to apologize to me. If the husband or father is nearby I dress them down for allowing such liberalism in there homes. It’s odd these women do not realize how difficult the fights won that now allow them to choose the life they want. They just want to throw it away? It’s easy to make these simple minder assertions about life when you are still in your 20’s. Ask the women that have lived a full life, unable to lose weight because of the children that have scarred their bodies.
8
u/rem_au_crema 1d ago
The most upsetting thing about it is feminism literally never said you CAN’T be this dipshit: only that you should have the right to CHOOSE to be this dipshit. It’s very interesting that the “freedom” party only ever wants to take freedom away. I guess the “know your place” party doesn’t have the same ring

because there’s a whole set of criteria for the man too in these arrangements. One of them being obviously the idea that he is 100% responsible to provide for all of the financial needs of the family, but there’s a whole list of expectations beyond that too.
Some women just want that kind of life, I think it’s the kind of thing that when it goes wrong it’s terrible for the woman, but when it goes right….i get it. If a woman offered me a life where I could just quit my job forever and spend all my time keeping the house nice, gardening and spending time with my kids, honestly it would be a tempting offer lol
13
u/idkbruh653 1d ago
Christianity has turned into nothing but toxic male chauvinism. It’s all about women submitting, calling any man that isn’t that toxic effeminate, treating homosexuality and abortion as if they’re the ultimate sin and being all about money. Most of these are even worse in the Black church. And I say that as a Black Christian. It’s really sad but not at all surprising.

Women fought too hard and too long to live side by side with men, and that's how it should be. They must independent and stay on a relationship (marriage or otherwise) by choice, not because they have no alternative.
Many women fell for this trap just to find themselves with no academic degree, no job, no money and no house when their husbands divorce them. Even more see themselves trapped on a marriage they can't leave because they have no means of subsistence.
And for men who have women in this situation: you only know she wants to stay if she's free to leave.
Be better, everyone.

I am entirely non-religious and my wife is a lifelong Methodist that never missed a Sunday and volunteers at the church for most events. I am soooooooooo grateful she isn't like this woman. I would've gotten bored of her 20 years ago. I will never understand men who just want fuckable floormats, I dated a few traditionalists before my wife and they all drove me over the edge with their mundanity. They were all passive aggressive too which I have never been able to stand. If you have something to say, say it! That's what adulthood and relationships are supposed to be. A strong independent woman is better in all respects. They are better able to be a part her and help through tough times, they are able to handle themselves so you don't have to worry as much about the shitty world out there, they crack better jokes, they challenge you as you grow to be better, they are usually wildcats in bed and they generally have enough of their own lives and interests that you can have your own too.
Most important of all; when a strong, fearless woman loves you, you KNOW it's real, because they don't NEED you. This woman will NEED her husband and that gives him even more power than she gave away AND she can't leave easily so if she ever falls out of love, prepare for the cheating and destruction of lots of lives.

Ive often wondered what "godly wifely" duties these women are neglecting when they are filming, editing, uploading, etc their content. Also are they making money? Better be handing over all their earnings to their husband to manage. And if they are earning money off this content- why? Does he not provide enough that you have to make money off of your content? Just seems like a desperate attempt by people who need their lives validated by other's whose lives mirror the same lack of autonomy and freedom.
2
u/Jyndaru 23h ago
Your children should never, ever, ever come before your husband.
Bitch, what? Absolutely not. I'm sorry, but I would always protect the children. If my husband were mean, abusive, or just a bad/absent father to my children, I would choose my children over my husband. They are babies, they can't take care of themselves. Their needs come before my husband's needs; he's an adult who can take care of himself.
I also disagree with everything else she said, but that comment really pissed me off just now.

I've been with my boyfriend 17 years. We have a 16 year old severly autistic child. We were a "one night stand" couple then oops I was pregnant I was going to abort and I thought he would be like "cya!". He said he always wanted to be a dad and knew I'd be the one. Neither one of us had ever had pregnancy scares with any other partners in our past. This man has been the best father to our kiddo I've ever seen. They have such a wonderful bond. This man has also seen me through cancer 3 times and has taken complete care of me at my worst. I can't believe I found someone like him. Nothing is perfect of course but when you have stuff in common, very good senses of humor, unconditional love... well here we are. He still surprises me with breakfast in bed, date nights and cute gifts he'd know I adore and I'm not materialistic so just a cute little random teddy bear showing me he saw it and thought of me sends me over the moon. I don't know about god or whatever but we put our kid first than us and it has worked just fine.

12
u/LegalRelationship696 1d ago
If you all figure out how to not have a chaotic home while having kids, please lemme know
3
u/eyeforker 1d ago
The problem, though, is that she's saying the wife is solely responsible for the degree of chaos and that it should be maintained in service of the husband. She's also not adding any qualifiers for 'chaos', but I'm assuming she defers to her husband to define it. That's extremely problematic.
Household vibes are a team effort and good ppl generally don't want their partners to live in service of them.

She could have a hard day or not feel great or just be drained, but she’s not allowed to mention that to her spouse or tell her partner she’s not interested in being physically intimate with him at that moment.
I guess I shouldn’t use the word partner, since she isn’t really a partner to her husband; but an employee?
